need advice

Good morning,a newbie here needing advice.we have an older model Tarago(yes,even older) but we are considering purchasing a Lucida '92 4x4.We would like to know if these imports are a good thing or if they might go in the too hard basket because of the difficulty in getting parts also are they all wheel drive or 4 on demand.Any other information or advice would be appreciated as dealers can't (or don't want to) help me.I am supposed to make up my mind about this today but feel I need to know a bit more first

Petrol or diesel?? As far as the 4wd system goes it is the same as what Toyota puts in the Rav4. So it is basically AWD not 4WD like say a Hilux. A lot of the parts for these are interchangable with the Aus spec Tarago's and most stuff can now be sourced by import parts suppliers. There are a lot of them now on the road so getting the bits you need shouldn't be hard to do at all.
