What's on the windscreen?

I finally took delivery of my new Grande....only a couple of day before Christmas. Made for a very nice Chrissie present!

I was looking to see where I could best mount my eTag. But there is a patch of meshed screen just behind the rear view mirror (where I would normally put the tag). Does anyone know what this is?? I've had a look at the manual and can't find a reference to this. I am assuming it's not the antenna, as this is embedded in the LHS quarter window (at least that's what the manual states).

Any clues? And where have others placed there eTag?

No it is not the antenna. I wonder where the antenna is, is that really the left rear window. I thought it was integrated with the rear glass window with the demister, since most car companies are doing that now.

The patch is for reducing glare when you are facing the sun. It is where i have my eTag - works perfectly for me. Actually all my cars have eTag there, hiding behind the similar patch.

Thanks Taka. So you're saying that patch is there because the sun visors can't cover over that area when needed?
