I've got a 2 week old Kluger KXS AWD, and i've noticed that when stopped and i press hard down on the brakes, the car beeps and the stability warning light comes on, and back off when i release the pressure on the brakes.

Anyone else have the problem, or do i need to get it checked?

This is normal.

You are activating HAC, Hill-start Assist Control.

This feature locks the brakes on until you start moving using the accellerator or for 2 seconds, whichever comes first. It is to enable you to start moving when on a hill without rolling backwards or forwards.

Of course, it is an automatic, so you could just use both feet.

Congratulations. You are the first person I know that activate the hill assist without getting taught. :)

I had a bad problem teaching my wife how to do it... so she will not roll back on a steep sloped carpark.

I believe it has been mentioned prior. If you press hard, it activates it for 3-4seconds, if you change you mind or it was an accident, press hard again, and it disables it immediately. I just accelerate which seems to disable it anyway. Great if your looking for a quick getaway at the lights:) not that i would be doing this though...

thanks fellow Klugerites for responses, and now I know how to use the hill start assist.

One question down, many more to come.
