In Dash GPS in ZRE Corolla. Options and advise?!?!

I was wanting to get GPS in my corolla levin SX. I was looking at the genuine Toyota GPS unit, and the asking price from Toyota is crazy!

Are there alternatives to in dash GPS that fits the ZRE dash? I was wanting to keep Bluetooth, pairing with iPhone in particular.

One thing which I really wanted to double check was if I change to a non Toyota head unit, that my steering wheel controls will still work with other brands?

Or could I even order the Toyota GPS unit from eBay? And if so, what's the part no?

FollowMe unit (or the Eclipse AVN2210p) works well in my Corolla... best of both worlds really and retains the steering wheel functions. The updated version of this unit lets you play iPod video illegally whilst on the move ... but I wouldn't condone that sort of thing. ;) Both of them have Bluetooth, USB and pairs up to the iPhone without a problem.

Where did you buy yours from? and how much?

Did you install it yourself? if so, do you have a guide of some sort I can follow?

Also, where is the Microphone for the Bluetooth in the ZRE? I see a small vent above my head where the map lights are, one is closed over and one is open, is that where the mic is?

The MIC is actually on the HU itself.

This is the updated version of the FollowMe model. The microphone can be located anywhere. I put my microphone (for a seperate BT phone kit) on top of the steering column which I think is a more natural place to place a microphone.
