damn, am i the only one? :(

I,ll help you get started, come on chaps be in it. MY Car 1999 Fully optioned Vienta Grande, covered 175000Ks, economy on last trip 9.4 ltrs per 100Ks with aircon on all the way. Should drop to mid 8s without aircon.

Best of the camry bodied Vientas ever built! Well, I believe so anyway. Toying with the idea of fitting a lager or high flow catalytic converter to reduce back pressure, to improve economy. Fitted a few extra seals to doors and under bonnet to help make it whisper quiet even under hard acceleration and at highway speeds on rough surfaces. Great Cars Camry's!

Private Number, I'll help you out as well.

Mine is Camry Altise Gen5 colour : kashmir bought with 84,000km on the clock. It's primary purpose is as a family transporter from A to B. The car was in fairly good condition except for some signs of lack of tender loving care. Did some DIY such as unclogging the windshield cleaner reservoir, removing stains from carpet and seats, cleaned engine compartment of grime/dust, topped up radiator coolant and viola.. it is good as new. Although it hasn't been heavily used but it is reliable and I'm happy owning it.

I am in Melbourne in the eastern suburbs.

I have a 1999 Camry Touring. It is green, manual and completely stock. I bought it in Nov 2006 with 110,000kms on the clock. Yesterday, the car ticked over to 188,300kms. Hopefully it has a bit of life left in it! I do look after it given it covers about 500km a week.

It has been a good car, although I think the clutch might be in need of some attention soon but that is hardly surprising given its age and the fact it is still the original clutch. Aside from the tweater speakers rattling at times, the interior appears to be quite well put together.

Just a word of caution. If you haven't replaced the timing belt' do it soon. As it should have been done at 150,000Ks and could cause all hell if it gives way.

Timing belt was changed at 150,000kms.

I've read on other forums that the 1MZ-FE engine is actually a non-interference engine, which means the engine simply stops if the belt snaps. Of course, I recommend people change the belt as per the schedule regardless of whether this is true or not.

Well, I'm not technically from Melbourne but near enough - currently residing in Bendigo so I trip down for meets when I can :)

I own an '06 Camry Sportivo in Aurora Gold, another manual and I love it :D Bought it in Feb '09 with only 20,000km on the clock, it was being used sparingly as a dealer demo in Essendon. Car is only up to 32,000km now and drives like an absolute dream and is definitely a head turner around town heheh

Mods include Nokia handsfree car kit, factory tint, reverse sensors, Aurion Sportivo floor mats, Sportivo rear scuff plates, personalised plates (SPTVOH) and very recently new speakers + amp as well as new rims :D Anz Enforcers at 18". Unfortunately I haven't been able to take any new pictures yet as it needs a wash and I'm loathe to go outside when it's so damn hot! So I'll be waiting for a cool evening early in the week. Future mods list includes front strut and rear sway, either tinted tails or already smoked LED tails and possibly exhaust mod and maybe a new head deck somewhere down the line.

Will have to organise a meet-up again soon as I'm keen to catch up with you all :)

Heheh Gen 6's are awesome :D But I have a soft spot for all Camry's, man do they have some potential. Hmmm pity they're doing a group buy now, bit early for me but I'll stay tuned! As for swapping with you Akuma I would, but I'm keen on getting LED tails, sorry! Lol and as for the number plates, there are soooo many people who have no clue what it means!!! I get asked all the time, but it's good for a laugh :P

Your car is looking great now it's dropped, we'll have to have a chat about what you used to do it as I'm thinking I need to add that to my mod list heheh
