Hi All

Can anybody able to explain why my Paseo's idle rev varies so much. One day it would idle at about 1200 rpm and another day would rev about 600 rpm. It is usually when it has been turned off for the night and I start it up for the first time in the morning usually around 7 am. The revs vary during the day also. You might stop at one set of lights and the car would stall because the revs have dropped so much and then at the next set of traffic lights it would rev at about 1500 rpm. Its getting really annoying.

Regards

Tony

what are the conditions during idling? is it idling roughly when the revs go too low?

Do you have the air con on? It can suck a lot out of these engines especially the lower capacity ones

I don't have an A/C. It was taken off before I bought it

At traffic lights it starts to idle rough then stalls, the weather is hot also but first thing in the morning it is always smooth just different RPM's.

i myself havent had this problem in my el54R paseo but the guy next door did , we ran through injector cleaner, engine cleaner and adjusted the idle up a little (he had very dirty injectors).

give that a try

I have been running injector cleaner regularly. Have adjusted the idle a few times when the revs are low but when it revs high it is to high so I need to lower the revs.

Its a real pain
