Awesome day.

Please find below my times.

I think the *:**.**** indicates end of session.

Notes:

Session1 - Spun on flying lap @ Esses (squirmy under brakes...turn in whilst braking = ballerina spins). Dint to mojo. [02:03.0]

Session2 - Fiddled with Tire pressures (from 38psi to 35psi)[02:01.0]

Session3 - Fiddled with Tire pressures (from 35psi to 32psi), achieved a higher top speed on the back straight @ 130km in 3rd (NGK Straight)[02:00.4]

Session4 - Played around with braking distances, change up in gear selection upon slow sections - caught in 'dead zone' in the hairpins. i.e. 2nd gear high RPM? or cruise in and out at 3rd gear, but suffer with accerlation? I opt for 2nd gear for all through the hairpins (Penrite to Repco cnrs and also turn 10) [01:58.5]

Session5 - Combined Group A / B /C. Chasing a red E30 BMW / WRX GC8 (all with vain on straights), but I guess that desperation allowed me achieve the PB [01:56.2]

Previous Winton Reference Times [Combination of self and brother):

Starlet EP91.T (Coilovers, Semi slicks) 1:51.3

GC8 WRX (Stock) 1:53

Corolla 1ZZFE Goose (Coilovers, CAI) 1.58

Starlet EP91 (Stock) 2.01

Cheers Mick! There was a Suzuki Ignis Sport that did 1:50.6070 on Semis!! +_T Of particular interest in the lap times is a Ralliart Colt...I think next time the Colt races, I'll be looking to be behind it - Chasing the car in front of you definately motivates you to go harder, brake later and accelerate much earlier.

haha, the 1.5L class is super competitive.

Here is the link to the lap times: Nat Soft Link

Here is the individual lap time break downs: Individual Nat Soft

Will be uploading photos when the albums come out.

Cheers,

Jules

You are inspiring me to take my NCP91 out on the track...

Induction, anyone?

Here is an example:

picture015mediumwb5.jpg

Method:

Ballistic Bellmouths

So off to Woolies! Mick Mick!! Approx $5 Dollar mod!! - In this example they used emptied out Egg Holders - ingenious!

Should yield better throttle response / noisier at WOOT etc. Beats the stock hose sitting behind the headlight. I think I'll relocate the hose to feed from nearer in the front so whilst the car is moving, fresher air can be directed to the bell mouth.

Another example:
