Premium number plates for new car (NSW)

Hi all,

Dealer told me that they use standard yellow plates (NSW) that costs $37 from RTA. Did you pay any extra to upgrade to a premium plate (black&white, $75 from RTA)?

Yep premium plates in NSW now cost $92 or $93

Refused to pay for premium plates told the dealer they were making ****loads from me already that they were to throw them in for free so they did

We just bought a new Corolla and we asked the dealer to include the premium plates into the contract ( no charge ) and a full tank of fuel ( thanks to this forum )

it says on the myplates website that the premium black/white's are like 220 dollars? where do you guys get 93$ from?

You are most likely looking at custom ones.

nope. coloured ones. slim line black/white 220$ no custom numbers or anything. nevermind, just found it

I find it funny (and sad) how they make you pay to get a standard issue Black and white plate.

Ended up paying $54 for premium number plates. Originally was quoted $100 but after a question why that much was told: Ok, will charge you original cost of $54 :)
