Cushie Ipod kit

Anyone tried these?

Looking at this for my Kluger Grande.

Dealer wanted $699 for an ipod kit.

I put one in my Kluger this morning.

It works very well.

You can see the name of the song playing or the album on the stereo.

Integrates with the steering wheel.

Sound quality is great.

You can't easily select podcasts, but if you select it on the ipod it plays ok through the stereo.

I haven't tried it with a USB hard disk yet. That looks very promising.

Certainly a big improvement on having to fumble around with the ipod while driving.

I also got the bluetooth kit.

This isn't working well at all for me.

As soon as I connect it, the sound of my ipod goes muddy.

Also it doesn't turn the music off when you answer the phone.

I suspect I don't have it setup right and I have emailed them asking for help.

I'm sure it must be something simple.

If not I'll return it for sure.

I'll update if I sort it out.

GloveHead, out of curiosity did you fit it to a face-lifted model (MY2011)?

I ask because I contacted them (Cushie) a few weeks ago about getting one for my 2011 and they said they're still testing the units in that model because Toyota made some changes and in particular they noted issues with BT.

I have asked them to email me back once they've completed testing and development and I'll place an immediate order for one!

I don't think it's a facelift model.

I've just got the standard model (KR?).

They have emailed the US suppliers about the Bluetooth problems.

That was a week ago and no replies.

I'd say avoid this product if you want to use the hands free/bluetooth stuff.

The ipod part is good, but I wish it worked better with podcasts.

I drive about 900km every week and I listen to lots of them.
