A few months on and I haven't yet done anything with the speakers and audio quality. Has anyone fitted new speakers now, and how has it improved the sound? With the popularity of the MY11 Klugers' I'm hoping speaker installs will become more common so places like JB's will offer it at a reasonable price.

GloveHead, out of curiosity did you fit it to a face-lifted model (MY2011)? I ask because I contacted them (Cushie) a few weeks ago about getting one for my 2011 and they said they're still testing the units in that model because Toyota made some changes and in particular they noted issues with BT. I have asked them to email me back once they've completed testing and development and I'll place an immediate order for one!

I am trying to find out exactly the same thing! Unless I'm going blind I cannot find any reference to the speakers or head unit power anywhere in the user manual??!! I too will start with speakers, then add an amp if needed, but I'm hoping not to have to, I just want a reasonable increase in clarity and power, nothing too crazy. I also read on a few forums that the Highlander (US version of the Kluger) has pre-drilled or pre-fab holes in the front and rear doors for 6x9" speakers (though I think 4" or 6" speakers are currently in there?). If that's true the install would be easy and 6x9's would give reasonable bass. A pair or quad 6x9" 3-ways in the Kluger would be pretty awesome :D But again I can't find any info about it anywhere for the Kluger!!! <_<

Hi All, I have just taken delivery the new MY11 Kluger Grande. I really like the stereo/map interface so I'm not looking to change/upgrade the head unit (other than adding an iPod unit), but the speakers could be better. If I replace just the speakers with better quality 3-way ones, but use the existing the head unit to power them, would I achieve much of a difference or better sound with them? I'm really just looking to get more clarity and volume out of them, not something resembling a full custom car audio installation or sub type set up. Cheers.

They really are!! Got them for kids and they have been very practical, but I didn't expect them to add so much to the look of the car too :D I got black leather, again because of the kids. But the lighter leather looks very very nice.

No Way! Sorry to hear that mate... Mine actually did too because I bought mine 3+ months ago so things like the fixed interest rate on my lease etc had expired (meaning I was going to have to pay a higher rate - not happy). I cracked it and said I've waited 3.5 months, I'm taking it today, they did a workaround and I managed to take delivery.

Picked up the car late this afternoon and couldn't be happier with the car. Graphite Grande AWD with nudge, tow and side rails. The chrome accents on the facelifted model with the accessories on dark grey look superb!! Drive is silky smooth and the little touches (like a blue/grey LED on the roof lighting up the shifter) were unexpected but fantastic. Can't wait take take it on some loooong weekend drives this weekend. :D Did you pick yours up today mate?

48km (also needed to take it to the tinting shop) and a full tank of fuel.

I'd be interested too. Haven't even taken delivery of my new Kluger yet and I'm looking at what people have modded!

Awesome!! :D Mine's from City Toyota. Pretty excited, I ordered it in Oct, was originally due in Dec, ship delayed till 11 Jan so delivery this Friday 21st Jan. Seems like it's been an eternity!!

Hi, Congrats on the car, also hoping to take delivery of mine next week too!! Re: the towbar, I paid $840. Although a different car I was also looking at a Skoda V6 Wagon, towbar quite for it.... $2,300!!! Apparently they have to use Audi genuine and wiring is complex etc. but I digress. Also my tint (front 2 windows) was $280. Didn't push too hard on those accessories because I got a great deal on the car to begin with.

Congratulations! Mine arrived on a ship on the 11th, have been advised it can take up to 10 days for Toyota to receive the vehicle from the dock, then a few days for the plates and accessories. Bursting to get my hands on it, I ordered it last October!!

Took delivery today....A bit disappointed. Maybe I am too used to European cars, but I was expecting a full tank of fuel with a new car, not a quarter of a tank. The rear blind/luggage area cover is torn. Didn't see it at the dealership because it was stowed away. Just noticed it when I got home, and was about to fit it. Dealer also did not have the spare key or service books. I'll be going back to the dealer tomorrow, with a stone in my shoe. That's pretty poor mate and I feel for you, but I think (hope) it's an isolated incident. Others have reported a full tank of fuel and no issues with delivery. I'd definitely be going back to the dealer to have a few choice words with them!

Mine has been delayed. Due to arrive on the ship in December to Fremantle (Perth), but it has been held over until the 10th Jan. Good news is it will have 2011 plates, bad news is, well, it's delayed!! Toyota have been fantastic about the delay and have given me a new Camry Hybrid for free to use until my Kluger arrives.

Wow that looks really good! And pretty well priced compared to others too. I have a Grande on order (due end of this month), and lack of iPod/USB connectivity is a problem so I'm looking at doing something after-market as well.

I queried this with my Toyota dealer and recieved the following response: "Uv cut glass is 99%uv protected. The Grande comes with the Privacy glass on the rear glass which is U/V and heat reduced.We are tinting the front 2 windows so all Glass will be 99% u/v 60% heat reduction &40% glare reduction."

I understood the privacy glass is actual coloured glass (either with or without UV protection depending on what you read), not film. I can't believe there is so much inconsistency with what dealers say, unless it's in writing i tend to take everything with a pinch of salt if you know what I mean. Yeah I agree. The brochure says "UV cut side and rear windows", so that's not really helpful at all! How much does it cut UV, and how?!

I'm putting tint on the front 2 windows of my Kluger. Sales guy said the privacy tint on all other windows was a film (not coloured glass) and offers high UV protection. I haven't validated this though, but it better!!!
