MWR 2zz underdrive pullley!

Recommended Posts

i am running alternator and water pump underdrive pulleys from MWR on my 2zz sportivo engine, they recommend adding 2 inches to your belt length when running both alternator and water pump pulleys, problem i have is i dont know what length the stock belt is suppossed to be, i have been told its 1930 from one dealer and 1870 from another, i am running a 1930 on there with the pulleys now but i feel it is too tight causing my idler pulley and shock absorber to constantly flog out, can someone tell me what length their stock one is, and anyone else running the pulleys could you tell me what size you have gone to.Also does anyone know what is different on the upgrade toyota belt tensioner setup?

Thanks dan

maybe a stupid question but did u drop a 2zzge in a wagon? cuz ur model says "NZE121 aero mock-up" or something rather.

reason why i'm asking is that if you dropped a corolla 2zzge engine the belt will be different to a celica 2zzge engine as the accessories are slightly different causing the belts to be a different length.

It is a zze122 corolla wagon with a 2zz out of a japanese fielder wagon,i have had mine and a sportivo side by side and all the accesories are the same size as an australian delivered sportivo, the sportivo i was comparing to had no size markings on the belt.

hey sorry but i dont mean to high jack this thread but atm im also looking for belt sizes, althought mines a 1zz, im upgrading the water pump to the 2zz wp with pulley and alternator pulley, also pulling out the ac. question is would pulling the ac out have a dramatic change on belt length? im seeing my mechanic tomorrow about it so hope fully he may shed some light on belt lengths.

ok just try the belt size that comes with the australian delivered sportivo. any automotive shop will look that up for u. the worst that can happen is that it doesnt fit and u return it and get the other size right? it has to be tight but not overly tight. i believe there is a belt tensioner and u can loosen it if its too tight (open for corrections on this one). i think this belt tensioner tightens up as u run the engine too.

just becareful with specail orders if u order from SCA. they will allow returns but won't refund u the shipping costs so better off avoiding them unless u know for sure what size belt it is

yea i got it sorted, the problem was that between factory and supercheap and bursons and repco the listing books all have different sizes so i just needed to know what someone had on their stock sportivo so i knew what to order! so an australian delivered sportivo corolla with MWR alternator and water pump pulleys runs a 6pk1930,
