I am considering buying a new corolla because Toyota is now giving a big discount at the moment - toyotathon gold gleet discount. I got several offers from 23k to 24k for ascent model. I am not sure if I can get a lower price. Is it worth to buy at this price? Can anybody help?

I would wait for the 2012 model. The 2ZR engine is getting old. New small cars now come with direct injection, more power with better fuel economy. Mazda 3 will soon come with their new SkyActiv tech. Hyundai i30 will come with DI 1.6l that outputs 103kW. Toyota will have to update their engine very soon if they don't want to lose sales.

I rushed to buy when they had the 4.5% finance deal earlier this year and I kinda regret it.

Just recently purchased myself a Corolla Ascent Sport for 24kish with tint and paint protection, seems like a good time to buy. Either way if you wait or don't wait technology will always be advancing, this corolla seems to have more features then my 2008 Aurion ZR6 did when I purchased that brand new for a huge price tag in comparison so you win some you lose some but I'm happy with this new purchase :)

That's true, tech will always advance, but I just wouldn't feel good if I buy something now and the next day something new comes out in the market. The 2ZR is due for a replacement and I would suggest to the OP to wait a bit longer if he can. There will always be another special deal. The next EOFY special for example.

With all the comments above..

I really think its just about how urgently you need the new car.. If u really need it now, then go ahead.. If u dont need it now, then u can wait for the newer model with the discounts that come with it..

I've hust recently bought an ascent sport model as well and very happy with it! I bought cause i really need the car already.. :)

Oh and you have to be content with what u are buying.. Or u will regret all the time.. As for me, very content, very happy! No regrets!

You are so right about that. After driving a 140kW car, I'm not content with the Corolla's 100kW and now I keep regretting it.

My advice is, don't rush, make sure you know what you want out of your car, look at the alternatives and compare their features.

If you need a car right now, by all means get it.

Im not sure when Toyota will be making changes to the Corolla specs or design

On the other hand, you can get a few more quotes from the dealer and tell them how much your willing to pay. the dealer might call you back offering you a better price..

what I can tell you is my friend bought a new corolla with window tint floor carpet automatic prestige paint at the price of 22,700. So keep bargaining.
