2005 CV Kluger - fitted 2011 Kluger 19 inch wheels

Hi All

recently got myself a 2005 Kluger CV base model

didn't like the factory 16 inch wheels and scored a set of late model Kluger 19 inch wheels running 245/55/19

the car looks awsome (i might add)

i know that the new 19 inch and wheels are giving my wheel an extra 30mm in turning circle.

is this extra 30mm going to cause me any issues?

A guy from bridgestone said that it could cause my gearbox to fail

so... just wana see what you guys think.

cheers

Hi ray, Im no mechanic, so I dont want to give you a bum steer mate.

The only problem I can think would be your spedo accuracy, as for your gearbox failing when fitting bigger wheels, to be honest I cant see any problem with fitting bigger wheels as long as your tyres are all the same size.

My model kluger has two different size wheels, the kxr has 17 inch were the kxs and grande have 19 inch.

I dont think there changed anything to the gearbox to accomadate the two different size wheels, I dont know what they do to change the speedo accuracy.

Hopefully theres someone with more mechanical knowledge than me on the forum that can help you more than me.

In addition to the speedo being out, If its too big it may cause the brakes to fail or may even be a defect.

what size tyres have u got on the wheels? (i.e 255/50/R19)

Use This website to compare the difference.

The stock wheels on a 2005 kluger are 225/70/R16
