G'day Guys,

I have just purchased a 2012 Hiace and am looking to fit some mag wheels, as big as possible (without having to chop all the arches away). What is the max size I can get away with?

Also looking at lowering it, just so it sits level with the top of the tyres, how can this be done and also does anyone know of anyone in the Perth area that can do it?

I have modded cars in my younger days so I do have some knowledge, but I don't have many tools anymore after selling the majority of them.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi martin,

i have a 2012 hiace LWB too. Let me know what you decide to put on your van. Just be sure they are load rated mags.

I was told by a few tyre Co's that I have to be careful what i put on the van. I was told the maximum size alloy and tyre is 16" alloy with possibly a 215/16 tyre. I think the offset is around the +30 or +35. so what ever you get, wont have much of a dish, if any.

i have seen hiaces with 20" rims. But was told they can be pulled up by the boys in blue and fined for driving a vehicle with illegal tyres on it. if that's the case, your insurance co may have the same view.

some of those are tyre companies so they may get away with the law in that respect being a company van.

For me, I drive every day up and down the coast. So I need my van to be legal and insured (Id love to have 17" or 18" on it, but i think id be asking for trouble.)

Put up a pic here martin when you decide what you've put on your vAN.

Regards

Johnno
