Hi king jackass hey buddy how that name came about :P ha ha, mate the second generation kluger which came out july07 to late 2010, then the face a lift came out in the end of 2010, there was only a few changes in the face lift model , they changed the headlights and taillights which now are led, the 3rd row is split folded, kxr and grande got new look wheels, there only a few changes in the interior, different head unit and the leather interior on the kxs and grande has perforated leather , apart from that there pretty much the same car.

now things that replaced over the life of kluger, midway through 2008 they replaced the rubber oil line with a metal one which is better, they also did a recall on the models before fitted with rubber hose , but unfortunally they were only replaced with another rubber one, they also have had dramas with the intermediate shaft that would clunk when turning, but the shaft was replaced under warranty, there also have been a few with a whine in gearbox, apart from that there hasnt been to many problems, dont let the problems I have mention put you off buying one there pretty reliable and the problems are only on a very small number of klugers, there is three different trim levels kxr, kxs, grande, the kxr is the base model which has cloth trim 17inch alloys, kxs has 19inch alloy wheels leather interior 7seater,7seater is a option on the kxr, grande has all the bells and whistles 19 inch wheels, satnav, pushbutton start, auto tailgate lifter, sunroof, woodgrain trim, dvd screen in the back.

Now for your other question whats the best model for the money, for$ 35000 I would buy a late 2008,2009 with metal vvti oil pipe, awd kxs,my kluger is only 2wd, but If I had my time over again I would buy awd, sometimes a bit more tration would be nice, if you dont need awd you might be able to pick one with less kms and little bit newer, you could even pick up a face lift model 2wd kxr, to be honest the kxr have all the features that most people want, but the onlyway to find out which grade of trim you like or need is go and have a look at a few, but in genral there a great cars , there powerfull and comfortable and offer excellent economy for a v6 2 ton wagon, sorry mate if I havent answed the question properly, Im still hung over from a night on the town, but will answer any questions your not sure of.

cheers for the promt response my name will make sence sooner or later, i get around on the forums lol

thanks for the info much appreciated, the issue is i really dislike the woodgrain and love cloth so it makes the choice a bit easier on the options list.

it sounds like the kluger is a very reliable car and has excellent value for money

really liking the newer face lift model, after a 7 seater and under 100kms if possiable is there a big service due at 100,000kms? on the kluger series?

thats not a bad price for 2wd 7seater kxr facelifted model, if you are only want 2wd kxr and your budget will a couple more grand, you might be lucky enough to pick up a new one for not much more, have a look at the kluger price thread, someone on the forum might be able to tell you if there any bargains out there to be had.

Yeah I like the facelifted model,If I was buying another kluger I would probadly buy just the kxr with cloth trim, the leather nice, but I reckon the cloth nicer to sit in and the tyres are cheaper to replace on the 17 inch over the 19 inch wheels, the major services on the kluger are every 40000kms, which can be a bit pricy.

2010 KX-R 44k/k 7 seat 2wd towbar @ $36000.

2012 KX-R 6km (new) 5 seat 2wd towbar, nudge bar, weather shields, mats, full tank, $37,500 drive away.

Decision is easy :-)

The used one in the link has the grille of the updated model late 2011?? Odd?

7 seat will be the same from wherever.

Phone a dealer and ask them. You could also include it in your offer to the used car yard.

Why does that car have a current model grille???

The Update model ( 2011 ) occurred in late 2010 not late 2011 so there are a some 2010s out there with the new grille.

There are a few bargins out there at the moment so look around and ask the question on price you might be surprised.

My mistake... for some reason was thinking late 11 was the release.. :-( not so... was 2010 as you said.

well gents braught it yep the late 10 has the facelift and the split in the 7 seat option other than that i think thats it

seen at least 20 up close and personal and did the walk around at least 30 this past 3 days

got it for 33 driveaway stamp and fees were 1500 ish

if anyones intrested the 7 seat option is $3595 and cant be fitted from toyota after has to be a build option ( aparently)

so its basically a sold and traded 10 model with 11 first reg , cloth,7seats,towbar,spot on history and in the pearl white brillant car to drive and super smooth and still have the warranty so quite happy so far

major service on the 40.000kms is 400 ish and just involves filters air, oil, fuel and if its awd would involve diff oil ( apparently) plugs dont get done till 100,000kms

So you got the 7 seater version?

seen at least 20 up close and personal and did the walk around at least 30 this past 3 days

Driveaway includes rego transfer, so it was included in the 33k? or was additional?

if anyones intrested the 7 seat option is $3595 and cant be fitted from toyota after has to be a build option ( aparently)

On the usa site toyotanation there are highlander owners that were swapping over.. ie: some owners of the 7 seat version wanted the under floor storage capability of the 5 seater and vice versa.

so its basically a sold and traded 10 model with 11 first reg , cloth,7seats,towbar,spot on history and in the pearl white brillant car to drive and super smooth and still have the warranty so quite happy so far

They are a lovely car and a pleasure to drive hope you have lots of happy k's in it.

Sooo close to the price of a brand new one... but oh well...

btw... Towed a 15' caravan 160k with mine recently and had to constantly keep remembering that I was towing a caravan, never knew it was there most of the time.

Hello all,

Want to remove the Dealership sticker in my rear window where I bought my car, it looks like it was designed on an etch-a-sketch. How do you remove it without damaging the heating elements in the rear window demister matrix?

Hi all

Looking at buying this second hand Kluger...

http://www.carsales....&cr=14&__N=1246 1247 1252 1282 4294962861 4294962773 904 1216&silo=Stock&find=kx-s|CarAll

Is this a good deal? We have viewed the car and it is in immaculate condition.

My wife wants to remove the nudge bar, does anyone know if removing this would leave any scratches etc?

Cheers

You should be able to get a pre-facelift 09/10 model with 40,000km KX-S for around $36-38k.

You should be getting a 40,000km Grande (2wd) for around $41-43k.
