My battery died and now when I do anything the horn sounds and the hazard lights flash. I can start and drive the car but I can't seem to turn off the alarm. I've pulled the horn fuse so my neighbours don't murder me but I'd like to be able to drive without my hazard lights on. :)

I searched online but most answers were for US cars that talked about a Valet switch to reset the alarm. There is no Valet switch in my car.

I have a simple key with no buttons (the chip is in the handle I'm told).

Please help!

Sounds like there should be a keyfob for the actual alarm. You need to find or get one and make it work so that you can turn the alarm off. The chip in the key is the immobilizer not for the alarm.
