Turbo ID and water cooling?

There is an after-market turbo on my 2LII motor. I assume after-market because the ex manifold adapter isn't matched exactly to the head, tho' it works well enough. I do have installed the thermal idle overspeed and the boost compensator.

There are no identifying marks left on the erroded heat shields nor anywhere else on it.

"Turbo" is printed on the boost delivery pipe across the top of the cambox.

The plumbing looks OEM on top of the motor, tho' the low pressure inlet pipe is rather crude.

The intake manifold has a vacuum butterfly, prob for shutdown. It is like the 5L, but the e-connector interlock is different, and a different colour.

My problem is, there isn't any water cooling connected, and because I'm disabled & fat, I can't manouver myself to see if it's normal, or an oversight.

If it's normal, then I have to live with it & frequent oil changes [or refit the Jackmaster], if an oversight, then I have to connect it up to protect the turbo shaft and the motor generally. BTW Anyone know where I can get new hoses and joints for the turbo plumbing in Perth-I've emailed Veale in hope, 'cos they seem reasonably priced. They can make up a 5L rebuild kit for abt $1300-. All I need is the cash......

      Yes I agree 100%. The locking tabs are a PITA to engage. If there was a safe way to remove that single skin of metal behind each headlight it would give a bit more wiggle room. I can't see how it would affect the structural integrity.

      I have done the same when replacing the parking bulbs. However, I not fully removed the plastic inner wheel guard. Instead I have removed just the front retaining clips and pulled back the inner guard for enough working space. I went and had another look at the passenger side headlight bulb. I manage working above and to one side when replacing the headlight bulb. Certainly thought a few times about removing the battery [but not yet done] for more room when replacing the passenger side headlight bulb. For myself, the main issue has been seating the bulb properly in the headlight housing and engaging the locking tabs.

      I have recently added Castrol Magnatec 5W30 meant for Petrol and Diesel engines in Hilux 1GD engine. So far it is running great. Has anyone else used this Brand and viscosity oil?

      Bluetooth connects, disconnects, over and over.

      I have started having an issue with the Bluetooth in my 2011 Yaris. When I first start the car, bluetooth connects to my phone, but only for a few seconds before it disconnects again. It does this over and over. Sometimes when I notice that it has just connected, I can start to play something on my phone (music) and it'll then stay connected. But the chance of doing this only happens after four or so times that it's gone through the connect/disconnect cycle. Has anyone experienced this? Is there some solution? Thanks.

      Tyres- 2020 2wd hybrid

      Looking for recommendations/suggestions for replacing Bridgestone OEM tyres. Still legal at 53k kms but probably won't get to 60k. Am tending towards Khumo Crugen. Did more than 70k kms on our 2017 Sportage. Thanks in advance.

      Is it 2WD or 4WD. If it's 2WD I wouldn't bother. 400kg Max towing capacity. That's 40kg tow ball downweight. (Toyotas best kept secret). Essentially rules out an ebike carrier. Add one ebike eg and you'll be over. Found out after purchase. So this means if we go on holidays and want to take our bikes: one e; one conventional then we have to take my FG ute. It's more comfortable actually but twice the fuel and the dogs hate it behind the seats:) If it's 4Wd forget what I just said.

      I actually removed the front wheels and inner guards just to replace the parking bulbs with LEDs 😂
