Hello all,

Bought a 2000 Ascent in Feb this year (i.e. RWC late Jan), had bonnet re-sprayed and a few other touch-ups done. The whole car looked superb. Just 12 minutes after picking it up from its beauty treatments (!) I get whacked from behind. :nopity: It looked like a straight-up bumper repair job, but apparently back end has been pushed in... the guy's insurers wouldn't repair, so I've been given a reasonable (acceptable) pay-out for it. The insurance co. gave me name of wreckers who will pay just $200 for it. Have asked a couple of others, same story... they need to make their profits, I guess. I'm in Geelong.

SO THE QUESTION IS: I've just bought exactly the same model (different colour, lower mileage :) ) so I want to take any useful bits off the one that will get towed, before it gets picked up. Other than taking the spare tyre (duhh!), any suggestions?! And nothing too radical - I can't disappear the engine, :spiteful: they may notice LOL!!

Thanks for any suggestions!
