I've just bought a 1995 RAV4 (manual), it's got 250168 km s on the odometer. Wanted to know from people who know if there's anything I need to be mindful of for this car. Also, is there any improvements tht could be made, especially regarding safety features, but also for performance?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Staci, realising it's been a while since you posted this question, my wife and i bought a 95 rav manual 5 door in 2012, and we never looked back.

6 years on, and the old girls done 390,000 k's and still running strong. The only real problem we've had is that when our local (but no longer preferred) mechanic replaced the timing chain, they didn't change the timing case seals that come in a kit with the new chain and water pump seal. So she still uses a bit more oil than normal but we can't exactly afford the $1100 odd for someone to get the timing case off again.

But that was due to human error/ignorance rather than poor quality car.

Hope this helps if you still own your rav
