Hilux Dash Lights
Hey, I’m Skye! 😊 Today while driving my 2012 Toyota Hilux the engine light, traction control light and ABS light come on all together on the dash and the car lost most of its power. The lights are solid and are still there. I have parked it up for now. Has anyone had a similar issue happen or know what the cause could be? Just a FYI - it was serviced 2000kms ago and has 241,000km on the odometer. I will be taking it to a mechanic but as it’s my only means of transport and I live remotely and can’t get to into the mechanic for a week, I thought I’d check whether it might (wishful thinking I think) be something easy? Thanks so much in advance! Skye ☺️ -

2020 Corolla service question
In general what I would do in your situation upon purchasing a second hand car: - Replace ALL of the fluids + the Engine air filter + the cabin air filter and possibly the spark plugs. In regards to the gearbox oil, If it's a manual and you just drive it normally, perhaps in 75% of the time period. If it's an auto transmission I would say maybe every 60,000 km (happy to be corrected by other forum members), and if going aftermarket oil ensure that you know exactly what oil your transmission requires. Other than perhaps the gear box oil, would you be doing the service items yourself? -

RATTLING CAMRY 2013
How long have you owned the car? There could be more than 1 issue, so it is best until proven otherwise to treat them as 2 separate issues. Firstly in regards to the noise, have you checked the Engine and transmission mounts? In regards to the "hard to start": - Is it that the starter motor sounds like it's struggling? - Does it crank properly but the engine takes an excessive amount of time to start up? - Have you noticed and excess fuel smells coming from the exhaust? Have you checked the spark plugs to see if they are pointing at an issues (perhaps a leaking injector) etc? I don't know of any common issues, simply because I don't have that year model Camry, but "the basics" still apply. -

LC200 4WD ECU location
I want to resolve a communication problem with the 4WD ECU on my 2008 LC200. The ECU stoped communicating with an error code of U0114. I try to locate the 4WD ECU. The toyota service and repair manual suggests, that it is behind the instrumental panel on the right hand side of the steering column. According to the instructions, it should has two connectors attached to its back. Need some help to locate the box. -

A major Electrical problem on 2013 Grande
Had an interesting (read expensive) problem with my 2013 Kluger Grande (the last of the Japan built gen 2). I have never had anything more major than a dirty rear door motor across three gen 2s I've owned. They are ultra reliable. This week the good wife heads out only to return in 1 minute. Grabs me to have a look. The blinkers stopped, followed by all the dash lights and buttons. Within 5 minutes the engine stopped and the starter wouldn't turn over. So, I reckon, obviously battery, sure enough dead flat. Had a new one delivered, $300, started ok but not charging. Ok, that's why the battery is dead, so alternator is shot, not charging the battery, therefore (I'm thinking), all the dash electrics went out in sympathy. And still out even with new battery. But the lights and emergency flasher still work??. So, I fit a new alternator,$350. Still no charge or change in symptoms. OK, Now it's time to think outside the box. Check all the fuses. Engine bay...all OK. But where are the cabin fuses, not under the steering wheel as expected. They're under the glovebox! Ok, there is a 10A fuse gone, which according to some info sheet, feeds power to a myriad of items, but no mention of alternator. So replace that fuse, all working for 10 seconds, then everything dies again. The new fuse has blown! OK, this is getting tricky. What's causing this fuse to blow? Whilst at the cabin fusebox, there's a lead feeding the cabin fan just next to it, I pull out the plug, put in another fuse and voila, everything works apart from the AC and fan. I teplace the fan....another $350. Everything now works and the alternator is now charging. Yippee. Only the drivers window is going up and down halfway then reversing. The battery removal has upset the limits, so turn on ignition, hold window switch down and keep holding, turn ignition off and back on, let go switch and the window now behaves. Hope this helps others to save replacing a perfectly good alternator and perhaps save a battery too.- 1

Insurance
Yeah, kind of what I've been thinking, but due to how bad the drivers are through Chatswood and those areas I'll probs ensure it with someone like AusPost who have the cheapest insurance and will insure me but I will definitely get the cameras you suggested thankyou so much- 1
