Strange brake sound

Hi guys!

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla Hatch that has done 65ks. 

I am hearing a strange sound sometimes when I brake.

When I am driving at normal speeds and brake I can't hear it. The sound only occurs when the car is at a stand still and I edge forward ever so slightly and brake. It mostly happends when I am at a set of light or trying to turn out from a side street onto a main road. 

The only way I can describe the sound is like a loud hum. Almost like a "HHHURRRRRR" sound. 

It doesn't sound like a squealing or grinding sound. 

Any help would be great as it is driving me crazy! Thank you!

Best to visually check the condition of the brake pads and rotors.

It may even be necessary to remove the brake pads for a better check.

Also good opportunity to check the wheel bearings.
