I have a 2021 RAV 4 with nudge bar fitted. The front sensors can go off very time I stop on the road if it has been raining. The Toyota dealer says it is a common problem and they cant fix it. Have others had this problem?

Wow, this is news.  No fix in sight?

When I bought our nudge bar it came with a warning that you'd have to disconnect front parking sensors if fitted.  (ours doesn't have front sensors so no problems).   The parking sensors are the little black buttons mounted in the bumper.  Is it not possible to physically move them (may need to extend wires) so they're mounted on little brackets under the nudge bar?

This is interesting to read.  I have a 2020 AWD cruiser & it never used to go off, but lately when it rains, and then the rain stops but the car is still wet, my front sensors activate & beep & bring up the pictures on the screen despite nothing being anywhere near the front of the car.  I had listed this for the dealer to investigate but perhaps I will take it off the list.  Most annoying as the only way I can stop it is to manually turn off the park assist until the car/weather dries out enough.

We have a 2021 VX Prado with Toyota bullbar that is the doing same thing, the dealer did a patch under warranty which made no difference. The dealer now says they fixed it under warranty (by doing the patch) and there is nothing else they can do so if we want them to keep looking at it we will be paying for it. That is not our understanding of how warranty works and will be taking this matter further.

I have a 2021 AWD cruiser & it has gone off in heavy rain since new; and then the rain stops but the car is still wet, the front sensors in the Toyota genuine Nudge bar activate & beep & bring up the pictures on the screen despite nothing being anywhere near the front of the car. Very annoying every time you slow down or stop. The Toyota dealer in Sydney ( where my vehicle was purchased ),denies that there is a problem and they claim they can't replicate the issue even though I have shown them a video clip. Asked the dealer to blast the front of the car with a hose and wet all the sensors ; they had a very negative approach to customer service. In 2022 we moved to the Hunter region of NSW , the country Toyota dealer was a lot more responsive in trying to solve the issue. So far two new sensor were ordered and replaced in the Nudge bar; this appeared to rectify the issue for over a year. Now in heavy rain the issue has returned with all the alarms and flashing lights again which is quite distracting and annoying. Interesting to note that we have two friends that have RAV4's same era, No nudge bar on either and no issues with sensors. However, when you order the genuine nudge bar to be fitted the problem occurs. Surely a company as large as Toyota has a team of experts that can correct a problem that they have created . Does anyone in Australia know of a proper fix for this issue ?

This is exactly what mine has been doing for the last 4 years since I've bought it. Taken it in 5 times. Last year they put O-rings in but it still did it afterwards. Today I managed to get into the services centre during torrential rain while it was doing it and they said the left Oring had come out and charged me $96 for it. I honestly dont believe a word they say. What's funny is every time I go in there they know exactly what im talking about and know its a common fault but then gaslight me about it not being an issue. Im at the point where I just want the nudge bar off and a refund.
