1ZZ gearbox Oil

Hi Guys

Im hitting 60k on my levin and im goign to get the gearbox poil changed on the weekend.

Can anyone suggest a good oil and alos give me a ruff price?? I do like a nice quick shift now and then and also takign it back to the drags soon. I have read some reviews about redline and how its no good when driving aroudn town.

I changed to Castrol Syntrax on the last service (75W90 as per manual) and when cold or just cruising around town it feels more notchy than before.

It's only when its hot that it seems more fluid and the shifter is happier to move. I'm going to change back to the Toyota Recommended oil at the next service, just doesn't feel right.

I'm thinking of changing the gear oil too and currently looking into Redline.

I got 2XRedline MTL (GL4 rating), but Toyota said is too early to change, they said is good oil & will fit for corolla.

MTL or MT90 are both 75W90 GL4 and are more suited to road cars. I have Castrol Syntrax but like 1zzfe said its better on the tracks or when the car is hot.
