  1. Wow cant beleive the photos still work :) Matty you still got the rolla?
  2. I've been using vista on toca since October last year!!! :P i had no choice to upgrade. But if you want my opinion vista isnt that big of a change to XP. Office 2007 is where the biggest improvements are for both productivity and features. Bill
  3. Spotted a black Corolla with TRD style grill and i think i t has a TOC sticker under the spoiler. Spotted on holidays on durras road heading out of south durras
  4. u 1ZZ's better calm down as dave (YDOIT4) and i will be heading down to this one :)
  5. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/projectc...yder/index.html Summary 1zz-fe mr-s stock internals Installed IHI VF23 turbo at 7.5psi. Apexi PFC Custom exhaust and manifold GT-r intercooler 525cc/min injectors Fuel pump high-capacity Walbro 255lph tuning = 1ZZ delivered 216 wheel-hp and 198lb-ft of torque, an amazing increase of 100 more hp, especially considering the low 7.5psi boost pressure. Interesting :P
  6. With this SA stuff, Yes ur right. The1zz;s built is SA are of worse quality thats why every time a 1zz goes at the actions the ppl look at the VIn number to see if its made in SA. If it is, it goes considerably less. Im not talking all the cars that are made in SA cause pete is right. But toyota AU admit that some of the parts that the SA models used were of less quality then the Japan built. it no just the build quality its the parts as wel. I remember seeing a post on here aboutthis were they compred 1zz's sa build and Jap built and there was some problem with the Brakes??? cant remember. *shrug
  7. ask any toyota dealer which car they get back with more problems?? the 2zz for 1zz. There are hundreds of thouands more 1zz's on the road but they get mor eissues with the stivo and celica 2zz's Once a car has had a recall anyway no matter what the recall is, it puts the resale value down.
  8. Good thing you didnt say conquest there mate otherwise you might be eating your words in good time :P jps - I would for sure wait until April before buying either (it is still kinda unclear what the go with the new corolla is), however if the choice does come down to Sportivo vs Levin, judging on your criteria I would advise the levin for the simple reason of build quality. If you are doing long trips...how much do you think you are going to use LIFT? Is it worth sacrificing the chance that you are driving along with 250,000 kms on the odo in a few years time and having your passenger door fall off? If you REALLY want performance though and arent the type who is into heavily modifying cars then the stivo will be better bang for buck for sure. Understandably now you would be leaning towards the stivo (I know i would for the extra juice hehe) but you don't want to be regretting your decision a few years down the track, especially if anything goes wrong with the only good point of the car (motor) as they are somewhat costly. With the levin you could blow the motor, break all the synchros in the gearbox, slam the doors, etc and things can easily be replaced with minimal cost years down the track. Same goes to all the sportivo owners here, i would be looking to palm off those cars as soon as the mechanics start showing signs of significant wear because parts will be very hard to acquire in a few years time ;) And for the record my conquest has 80,000ks on it, has taken a godly beating, has never had ONE problem with it (its 4.5 years old) and still goes strong. Woohoo someone who actually understands the difference in cost down the track. Well said mate For your info on the south african build quality just go and ask any of the toyota machanics and they will tell you about the loss they made with the sportivo and how much they wish they made then in japan. Liek minto ssaid. With the levin you can blow ur engine in a few years and pick one up for 800 bucks. There is more 1ZZ corollas on the road then commos now. All depends on what you want out of your car.... lift or reliabilty
  9. levin has a higher safty rating with more airbags than the sportivo?? Only thing the sportivo as that levin doesnt is leather seats. Other then that its the same including the sterio and the leather stering and gear knob
  10. I was in the same boast as you 3 years ago. I ended up with the levin. Although there are times when i wish i had got a stivo there are more times when i dont. For me, like yourself i wanted to own the car for 7ish years. Knowing how many 1ZZ's there are ont he road i realised how cheaper the parts will be in the future. That along with the fact that i realised a differene in Build quality just frm closing the door in a sportivo to closing the levin door, lead me to purchase the levin. Since then i have added a sportivo exhaust and CAI and i have proven that my car with these 2 mods that vcost me around $600 installed, is 0-100 as fast as any stock sportivo proven by the timeslips in the timeslip thread. So all in al i got my car to the 0-100 pace of the stock 123 and got the jap build qual;ity with it. Only problem is ive reached the 1zz limits almost where ***** add a CAI to a stock stivo and it will eat any 1zz even just 0-100. But i will eave you with one thign that will sum ur decision up for you.
  11. hey Guys i knwo alot of you have go thte clutch changed. How much $$ ballpark should i be looking at paying to get a clutch installed and the main seal replaced. I already have the clutch i just need to get it installed, replace the seal (60 bucks frm toyota) and machine the flywheel. what would i expact to pay for somthing like this and how logn will my car be out for? Cheers Bill
  12. haha cool!!! now he might get a 16.8 :P :P :P haah u could spend 3 grand on an auto 1zz keeping the box and keeping it n/a and there is no way u would get it in the 15's or even low 16's
  13. ive seen a bloke with an sp20 with intake zorst and some other minor mods do a 15.9 at wsid. Its possible Thats about the same time a stock Mazda 3 (Newer one) can do. An SP23 would be close to mid 15's
  14. agreed!!! i think high 16 max!! 15s will only happen with good setup and TRD supercharger. it still will only be high 15s. Considering a manual can get 15.7 with just cai and exhaust you see the advantage of manual over auto :) But im happy for someone to prove me wrong. In regards to voy. I think Camcon, CAI, zorst and pulleys will get him a 17 flat
  15. I put the challenge up to the Auto's I dont think you could get an Auto to do 16's N/A Prove me wrong. :) WSID is open tomorrow afternoon?? Comon Voy!!
  16. Hahah cool my first spot!! One word on the spee limit. Clutch!! :P booked in for Jan
  17. The autos in the U.S with TRD superchargers get around 16 flat
  18. I have an november 02 levin 1zz and i have th esecond fastes quarter mile time on the forum. It all depends on things like petrol, how the car was driven previously. spark plugs type of oil. TOo many things that can vary and affect the way a car dirves. Alsom if the gearbox has been crunched heaps it will change the way it feels.
  19. Bleh 15.7 Hahha yeh ive had a run with her before otuside of WSID and i got her by a noise. I love racing stivos with drivers that cant land good changes!!! :P
  20. "let go of the accelerator. " ????? that wont do you any good!! :o :o
  21. take it to AutoWorks Plus in landsvale on the hume hwy. Tell Richard the manager that bill sent you from the corolla forum. he will do it for alot cheaper then that. or just look them up in the yellow pages and call him up
  22. Ive got the otto one frm the U.S and it fits perfectly???
