Hello,

I'm up in Canada but am trying this Australia forum as not a lot of local folks have a 1hdt and I can't seem to find anyone that can tell me the vacuum build rate for the brake booster.

Sitting at idle I can get a vacuum warning light after 5 brake pedal pumps. While driving I can lock up the wheels on the first pump but if I pump the brakes three times first and then step on it, I can't lock the brakes and the brake pedal feels hard.

So far I have done:

New master cylinder

New brake booster

Vacuum pump rebuild (showed no signs of issues but I replaced some of the blades anyway), new bearing and seals.

New vacuum hose running directly from the pump to the extra volume can (bypassing any hard lines)

New soft lines

Brake system has about 750,000km on it.

Here is a video of the vacuum build rate. Can anyone show me what a proper vacuum build rate looks like? I'm willing to send a $20 Amazon gift card to the first person to video a properly working vacuum pump.

Thanks!

Rob
