Hi folks,

I recently bought an 2006 Toyota Hiace with the 2.5 litre 2KD diesel D4D.

This is my first time with a Diesel engine, so I may not be accustomed to the basics like a different sound.

Situation:
Low-moderate rough idle (particularly when cold). No smoke from the back, neither strange smells or sounds.

Previous owner said their mechanic said injectors may need to get done soon. Has recently had timing belt and clutch done.

Are bad injectors likely to cause this? Any other should look out for?

Yer injectors can cause those symptoms

Easy to check injectors by using a scan tool, Check injector feedback values to determine if they are in need of replacement

Most mechanics should be able to do this

You could try some injector cleaner in your fuel tank it can sometimes help
