I have had a 2008 UZJ200R (4.7L Petrol) for over 10yrs, the main issue I've had is the sudden loss of power over time, it happened 5yrs after I purchased (had just shy of 100K on the clock), the fuel tank was dropped and a new fuel pump was put in, it happened again just shy of 5yrs of the first time it happened, dropped the fuel tank again and replaced the fuel pump, then it happened again less than 3 yrs later (just recently), the fuel tank was dropped and a new fuel pump was installed, only this time it didn't come good. The issue - as soon as the engine warms up I put my foot down and the motor goes blurr, no power, no drop back a gear and race off, just no power, has anyone had the same issue or know of anyone having the same issue and what was done to fix it?

I’ve just read your post about loss of power in your UZJ200R and multiple fuel pump replacements.

I have the same issue in my 4.7L and was wondering if you were able to get the issue resolved? My loss of power occurs after approximately 5 hours of towing a load (caravan) and results in loss of power and eventual engine backfiring. The problem resolves it self after a few hours of cool down time. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel & air filters, plugs, ignition coils and mass airflow sensor but still have the issue. My auto electrician suggests that I now replace the fuel pump control computer (part no. 89570-60160) that sits on top of the right chassis rail just forward of the right rear wheel. He thinks this might be getting hot which could then affect the integrity of the signals being sent to the fuel pump.
