Outer CV Joint Removal

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of pulling off my Outer CV's to replace them, however, I can't get the joint off the axle. The joint moves approximately 2mm back and foward, which gives me the impression that there is a clip holding it together somehow, any ideas??

you need to lever the inner cv out of the box, it's got a springclip on the end of the shaft that clips into the diff to stop it just falling out.

You take the shaft out of the hub, guide to getting the shaft out of the actual hub is here: http://www.rollamods.com/gze_driveshaft.htm

Once the shaft is out of the hub, I find the inner cv is easier to knock out of the box if someone holds the shaft level while you hammer it out.
