Temp Gauge

Recommended Posts

the temp guage sender is on the intake side of the motor near the cam gears screwed into the alloy radiator pipe at the top of the head.

It's a single wire connection in a push-on clip that can fall off if bumped.

First check that wire is connected.

Next you can check if there is continuity between that wire and the wire at the dash cluster. The wire should be yellow with a green or blue stripe, I can't remember. To get the dash cluster out, undo the join in the speedo cable in the bay behind the motor, that gives you extra length to unclip the cable from the rear of the cluster.

Use a multimeter to check the continuity, if it's good, then you have a problem with the sender or with the actual guage in the dash.
