  1. Look what i found!

its a really small super charger, and it apparantly uses an internal plantary gear system to up the internal rpm of the turbine, so this would equate to a lower sap on the bhp from the engine side.

    Supercharger

    Supercharged Civic

if they managed to get it going good on that civic R, i'm sure the 2zz can put it to good use even with its higher revs.

and before the noobs jump in about how much better a turbo would be over a supercharger, just bear in mind that to each their own. Superchargers give a different drivering experience to a turbo, and they're pros and cons for both.

  2. In a word yes, but it depends on how much you pay for them.

they are certainly not worth what you pay at Toyota for them. But if you manage to get them for the price of kings, I'd go them over kings.

They do not lower at much as king lows, but they are more responsive and will age better.

All lowering springs will eventually wear out ur shocks faster, but at least with the toyota ones, perhaps some kind of warantycan be negotiated.

  3. For all who don't know that famous audi belongs to an oil sheik, the outer panels are actaully made of silver. *fact*

And i don't even want to imagine how many demons they caught and bottled to run that engine.

having said that i've emailed him my interest in his car and offered him my humble vw and a big box of tim tams in exchange =, i await his reply

  4. Actually guys this is a dud car. VW have "tuned" the engine to give it an extra 22kw and 25 NM of torque. Using this same 1.8T engine, most after market chip tunes will jump the normal 110KW 210 Nm to 140-150 kw and 280-310 Nm for MAX 1800 AUD. 22425 euros is about 37 ks AUD.

Add your on roads and your're close to 40k. I was offered a normal polo gti for 33 fully speced on road. So with that extra 7 k, you can certain end up with a more powerful and better looking beastie.

  5. several things strike me.

but i'll need to se the photos, is the MAF sitting in a pipe that's the sme size as stock or is that 3 in too?

try reset ecu a few more times (mine only got used to the cai after the 4th try) and give it a bout 200 kms before making any more judgements.

  6. 23? I dunno, one of the fellas in Melb bought a new one a few months back for 27 drive away.

and it is a good idea to seperate the exhaust out, you'll neer get your money back from it, and it makes ppl avoid ur car coz they will think its been hooned around.

  7. My biggest gripe with the car is that you cant turn off all the computer gizmo's and IMO it takes away some of the fun. I launched a hard 1>2 and couldn't get the thing even to chirp and it was alittle dissatisfying.

    Ahhh, the Hoon awakens

spend about 6-7K on one of these (exhaust, coilovers and few other things) and you would have yourself a very nice little hatch and it would be pretty dam quick too.

Yes, but then again at that price you can actually buy a whole lot of other things, entry level lux cars, the original zoom zoom mx 5, a fleet of bomb 180 SX *fUlLy sIk*

Lets see... the usual shopping list would be:

    *coilies

    *sway bars

    *strut

    *zorst

    *rims

    *tyres

    *body kit (Wide body?)

    *Giant GT Wing

    *Chipping

    *big turbo

    *HIDS

    *fully sik audio system

    *Fully sik BOV *Kasssstttt*

    *hoon powered external waste gate

    *black hole like tint

    *Momo shifter

    *Recaros

    *fully sik FMIC

    *CF Bonnet

    Did i forget anything?

FYI CAIs do jack squat for a turbo car IMO, the FMIC in the list was to do the trick

  8. I agree with some points and disagree with others...

The first post in this thread was from a self confessed whorer who is not a silver member who is cracking the woopys because his post count is now not going to increase.

Secondly, I take offence to the people (Silver Members) that continually harass and take cheap shots at the non-Silver Members about them making comments about the runnings of the board and that we have no right to complain as we don't contibute our $40.00....

This forum was set up as a free service providing an avenue for Toyota minded people to congregate and share information, and communicate with people of similar interests. If Steve’s intentions were that you can’t make a suggestion until you registered and paid money, then there would not be options for people to post information unless you paid.

First off, I agree with Azza on his views, but seeing as how he's commented about me I guess I should at least say something in my defense or at least clarify my point

My first post is a rant, the initial few lines can be read plainly at pointing to the cry babies who won't post happily in the club lounge due to the lack of the count.

the last line about the mods? hey, its a rant, if my opinion was that the mods could have done some thing better (go dig up my opinions on post whoring) then don't i have the right to say it?

lastly, I am not a whorer, look at my miniscule pos count in relation to how often i've been a member. i participate on these forums even now as a non-rolla owner because I do have a bit of fun here and from time to time can answer a few questions. (you all go buy chrome rims now ya hear?)

Azza, all respects to you (and mrs azza she who controls the modifications) but go easy on the labels, last I checked we've never talked on these forums, so lets start this friend ship on a good note eh?

    Chrome ppl?
