  1. i know a man can do it for $310. and he can simple go to your home to install it, if you live near his town. it will take appx 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the job. Is the person in Brisbane? I am looking at Fog Lights as well. Let me know. Thanks mate.
  2. Saw this on Amazon.com not sure whether it is the right one.. DJKOR and others might have an answer to that. http://www.amazon.com/TOYOTA-AURION-LIGHTS...o/dp/B001O1ED5W
  3. What fuel you use: should be 95 (the normal unleaded in brisbane) How many Km's you get to a tank: about 350-400km (usually fill when it is 1/4 tank left) What your Avg 100km/L is: Around 14-15 What sort of driving is this based on: Mostly suburb, but with lots of red lights, stop and start Never get below 13L/100km, probably because not much highway driving, heavy foot, lots of stop start and not sure whether there is something wrong with my car.
  4. Thanks for the advise mate, guess i will most likely get the Alpine Imprint, makes everything easier. Once everything is set, then life will be much easier hahaha.. guess i will be making another trip and spending money again..
  5. Not really fair for you to say that on DJ. His knowledge and willingness to share them with others in the forum have helped many in numerous occasion. Its people like him and others with good knowledge on the cars and taking the time to explain to others that makes it easier for us to make decision.
  6. Does anyone here adds Imprint to their IVA-W502E HU? if so, hows the effect?? The Alpine IVA-W502E HU doesn't offer any preset EQ Setting and i am loss in doing all the individual setting. So does Imprint helps tunes the EQ setting and makes it a easier for user, geez.. didn't expect to be doing the manual EQ setting.. hahaha..
  7. Anytime my fren just give me a ring or something, maybe u can give me a few pointers when u listen. U might hear more details things than me and i am not really familiar with the EQ setting and such. Still got heaps to learn from anything to do with cars. Don't really like the Audio System AMP but after everything is set up, it seems really ok. As for Sound deadening, i listened to the advise from you guys in the forum. I know when i don't know ***** about cars, i need to listen more and research more, people in forum is definitely more trustworthy than Salesman on a sales floor trying to sell you something. Doing the sound deadening does not cost much when u do all the installation with the same company (i only did one layer, just want to see the difference first). It cost less than a pair of speakers and it really helps, now the car is quieter when i drive without music. Everything seems great now and i am happy with it. I just tested an album called 2V1G which sadly is downloaded (trying to buy the CD from the internet soon), it is a Chinese album and 2V1G means 2 Voice 1 Guitar similar to unplug over here, nice to be able to hear much clearer singing now. One thing that ponders me is that, i am not sure whether the Alpine Imprint really helps? Since i am not familiar with EQ setting, wouldn't it be better off for me to buy a Imprint and use it to help me achieve better setting. Hahaha, heaps and heaps to learn...
  8. Thanks to all the comments and advise from everyone with regards to getting a good sound system. Special thanks to DJKOR, ELEGNT, Eargunk, Supercharged TRD, The_Random_Hero and JSTCHLN. After weeks of research, going down to outlets again and again, finally got it done. Although it cost quite a fair bit but i am happy with the sound that i am hearing. Not a pro in differentiating sound quality, but definitely an appreciator of decent sound quality. I have included the model of my sound system in my signature. Next up with be Mesh Grill and HID Lights.. Cheers Mate..
  9. Yup i would prefer the Alpine unit also, but went down to get a quotation on this unit, if adding Bluetooth, Steering Wheel, Reverse Camera including the navigation unit, it would cost more than $600 more than the Eclipse AVN6000 unit (which also includes, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera, Ipod Adaptor also). Only addition thing from the Alpine unit is playing divx and USB, so i don't think i will be getting the alpine since the Eclipse unit has pretty good review as well.
  10. Anyone has the Alpine IVA-W502E + PMD-B100E Navigation? Need some feedback on hows the PMD-B100E Navigation? Is it a good navigation unit. Deciding between getting the Eclipse AVN6000 or the Alpine IVA-W502E + PMD-B100E Navigation as the Alpine headunit has USB and can play DIVx movies but not sure whether the navigation unit is comparable to Eclipse unit.
  11. hey that's not bad at all... thanks for the pic!!!! :-D hmm...not sure which one should i go for, auspack or eclipse....the auspack (incl. all accessories and camera...) seems like is cheaper than eclipse... not sure about eclipse av6000. any idea what sort of price would i be looking at eclipse model? i guess i need to get facsia panel from toyota if i go with eclipse option, right? hmm.... i went to northfield moorooka today, and they quote me 2700 for eclipse avn-6000 incl. installation, camera, ipod acc. that's pricey.... what do u guys think? Hi it is expensive. Trying to pm u about the package i was quote at Northfield Macgregor but couldnt send thru. I am going down tomorrow if you are interested, email me at ingres.yap@gmail.com. Cheers.
  12. Hi, can i ask whether the Eclipse AVN6000 can play DiVx movies? Seems like it lack the USB feature and i am not sure whether i can play DIVx as well??
  13. If you are not in the hurry to get one, you might wait awhile, the U.S. is coming out with a new model AVN726E (April 2009) which also includes USB and play DIVx files, not sure what is the price though.. as for me, i don't think i can wait till it reach Australia.. most likely getting the AVN 6000 unit next week..
  14. Which Northfield is that and when did you install it? i am interested in the Eclipse AVN6000. Hows the unit working so far??
  15. Oh no... meaning i have to get another reverse camera again.. quite pointless to get a DVD headunit and use an external monitor for the reverse camera.. sigh.. Thanks DJKOR for the explanation.
  16. One Question to ask, i recently bought a Swann Wireless Reverse Camera Kit that comes with a small LCD Monitor. As i would like to change my Head unit to one with DVD, i would like to ask whether a wireless reverse camera can be linked with the head unit as i would like to use a bigger screen??
  17. Decision Time Too much choice, too confused. So decided to just stick to the two choices below: Hope all of you can give me an opinion as to which of these two to go for? If anyone got a strong opinion against it, please let me know as well. I am still learning what is what in this stage. Hahaha. Option 1 WOW Sight and Sound (Cost of Everything plus installation $1600) Option Audio AMP (Model No: OAH500) $499 5 Channel AMP (4X90WRMS + 1X500WRMS Monoblock Amplifier) Polk Audio Subwoofer (Model No: DB1212 or DB1240DVC i cant remember which one) $499 12" Sub in Porter Enclosure 760W Polk Audio Speakers (Model No: MM691) $299 6" x 9" 3-way with Crossover Line Convertor ( I think something like that) $52 Wiring $99 Installation $180 Option 2 JB HIFI (Cost of Everything Plus Installation $1600) Alpine AMB (Model no: MRP-F600) $617 4 Channel Amp Alpine Subwoofer (Model no: SBR-S122V) $398 Type R 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Alpine Speakers (Model no: SPR-69C) $249 Type R 6"x9" Coaxial 2-way Speaker Power Kit & Cables $120 Installation $340 Any opinions are very much appreciated. Thanks guy for all the help.
  18. Thanks for the advise, i guess when i don't know anything about car sound, it is an indication for the sales person to recommend me something which i might not necessary need at a higher price. I am going to WOW with ELEGNT tomorrow, perhaps will settle for some AMP and SUB for much less. Hahhaah, its great to be in this forum, you guys are really helpful in providing me with information and about whether i actually need those expensive items. Cheers mate.
  19. I bought mine 2nd hand as well, when i take it home, it is the same problem, the cup holder piece is broken. I took it to Southside Toyota Service Centre near Garden City in Brisbane to get it fixed (i did not buy the car from dealer), and they fix it without charging me anything. I assume yours is still under warranty?? But a price of $147 is really ridiculous.
  20. Today i went down to Northfield Moorooka, Geez its really nice to see the system over there. The guy Matt help me with some recommendation, as i would like a Small SUB in the boot, below is his recommendation: Option 1 - Discounted Price $2600 (Before Discount is $2880) Front Speakers: Focal 165v1 ($419) Sub Woofer: Image Dynamics ID10v3 in Box ($419) Amplifiers: Alpine PDX4.100 ($799) Converter: Audio Control LC6i with Sub Control ($449) Wiring: DEI 4ga Cable Kit ($249) Installation ($545) Option 2 - Discounted Price $2300 (Before Discount is $2610) Front Speakers: Alpine SPR17s ($349) Subwoofers: Image Dynamics ID10v3 in Box ($419) Amplifiers: Audio System F4.260 ($599) Converter: Audio Control LC6i with Sub Control ($449) Wiring: DEI 4ga Cable Kit ($249) Installation ($545) I find that the discount given is not that great. And the price is a little steep for me, well i don't know whether i should spend $2600 for a sound system and that doesn't include the head unit. Sigh.
  21. I'd change your speakers too, they are the main thing that defines your audio. I'll also offer a bit of assistance with installing if you need it, just gotta get me with some spare time :P For prices along, then WOW is the way to go - if you are looking for somebody to install, definitely go to Autobarn. I've seen/helped do some pretty excellent installs coming from their workshop. Wow, i am so thankful for the people in this forum, everyone is so helpful. Way to go, it would be really nice if i get help from you and ELEGNT. Any recommendation which speakers, sub and amp i should go for. Too bad they don't sell Alpine.
  22. DIY install FTW.... LOL. If only i have your expertise in cars, i might even have problem installing a wireless reverse camera in the car (Still waiting for it though). Sigh. So have to rely on others to do the installation, or who is free to install for me at a cheaper price?? hahahaha.. DJKOR and me did a mint job on mine....was great...ill be happy to intall your sub/amp for you for no charge mate....u can have a look at mine first if ur not a fan of how DIY turns out Wow thats really nice of you to help me with the installation? Which brand do u reckon i get from WOW?? Is it the underwood outlet? Its good that i can learn from guys like u on how to DIY the things, would be great if you can give me some recommendation on the speakers, amp and sub to get? Is it necessary to change the speakers as DJKOR just add the amp and sub without changing the speakers? Sorry for being a novice in these.. hahaha.. Thanks mate..
  23. Trust me, if you had seen some of the things that have supposedly come from there, you wouldn't go near the place ;) Autobarn Logan City, speak to Deb regarding products (she is a bit Pioneer biased though), speak to Anthony regarding installation. Is WOW really that bad?? i went to Underwood, the guy sounds confident but not the one in Annerley, perhaps it is just the sales that is confident and not the one installing hahaha..
  24. DIY install FTW.... LOL. If only i have your expertise in cars, i might even have problem installing a wireless reverse camera in the car (Still waiting for it though). Sigh. So have to rely on others to do the installation, or who is free to install for me at a cheaper price?? hahahaha..
  25. I do not need a custom boot install, they look so nice its hard to put things in the boot anymore, hahaha. I just need some nice music when i am driving, i don't really listen to loud music, mostly 80s music, no techno or alternative etc. So actually i need something pretty normal will do. What do you mean getting just a mono and 10" and 12" sub and have it running off standard unit? does it means i don't need to get speakers and an additional amp?? Sorry but i am just a novice when it comes to Cars and Sound System for Cars.. ahhahaa..
