Seems a bit liniar to me should be better gains at different RPM. The timing and the right tune of extractors should give you more Torque, The better breathing and fuel curve should give you KW……from what I know. Have a look at mine on the Camry page

Ok 30,000 km service was $256 same I think as the 15,000km How do you guys go for costs?

Hi Just wanted to get your feedback on your service costs and stuff on your Camry. Mine is in for a 30,000k service – getting the AC checked as its not super cool, also a squeak in the back and the brakes checked as the handbrake does not disengage on one wheel I think. Also those window rubbers….. I also get the emission thing as no idea if it does anything but sounds good – prob a load of rubbish but I want the best out of the poor old 4 cyl so every 1% helps I figure. Anyway see what the total price is….

Generally there are too many signs and conditions so I agree you are more preoccupied with not getting caught …..rather than driving safely for the conditions. I think 50 is fair enough as long as its not a main road School zones and times, change of limits …….in the old days you see kids near the side of the road coz you are looking at it and you slow down as they are prone to run out, but now your looking at speed, the kids , the time and basically avoiding getting a fine. I do think speed has been drilled into us to death and its time to look at other rules , indicating on roundabouts, giving way, merging lanes, tail gating and general common sense. If there are parked cars either side of a narrow street and kids darting around if you do and it’s a 60 zone and your doing 60 you should be pulled over for being a idiot but it does not happen ! or people doing 50k around car parks…… I do find it odd that when your doing your driving test you have to look at your speedo as much as the road. Should you not have a feel for what is appropriate for that bit of road.

My series 4 VW 1.6 golf…..80,000kms ($10,000 for a new 5 speed gearbox as the other one was “like a bomb had gone off inside it”. The Battery the most expensive and it was extremely hard to get a brake light bulb. Resale on Euros is ok when they are newish but after 5 years no one wants one, but a second hand Toyota you would recommend to your brother sister, son or daughter :P It was nice to drive when it was going..... but I went back to Toyota ;)
