  1. My mum had it about 14 years ago. She had it in most of her lymph nodes and was given a 7 percent chance of survival. I have also a friend going through it from that ABC debacle in Brisbane

She is fine and clear now :yahoo:

It was a battle but she asked the doctor , what about the 7percent who do survive. He was a good doctor and had a positive caring attitude to it. I don’t agree with people like Kylie suggesting that alternative therapies are useless. I think there are several things ways to attack an illness like this.

    So what helps?

    A positive attitude

Good diet, organic and that sort of thing. Lots of fresh juices, might be an idea to see a intuitionalist or something

    Meditation

Forgiving and getting over any grudges from the past or stresses

    Rest

    Excercise

Things like acupuncture help balance the body. The thing is you have to find what you feel your body needs.

Of course traditional medicine is important too.

There is a book by Ian Gawler called you can conquer cancer.

I saw him speak and he is inspirational indeed.

Good luck to you and your mum and don’t be afraid to explore. :-)

  2. That is good as no one understood the Sportivo options on the Camry either. I think if they had some good performance parts many people would up spec their Toyota there and then. Many of my friends want a wing, sub, bigger alloys and so on.

People not too interested in cars would add a couple of performance extras such as towing gear, ipod dock and dash mat if they were given the option and a fair price.

Make the dealers know the product and at least as much as the customer (which is rare unfortunately thse days) and that goes with anything from HiFi to coffee makers.

if they do it well with a nice coffee machine and good prices Toyota will be a funky choice for people who want the little extras. I would love to manage one of these dealers as its not hard to see what they do not do at them.

Anyway Toyota when you read it have a think of all the potential you are missing out on. There are many on this forum that would do a much better job than the sales guys you have. Its not because of them we bought the product but despite them.

That is my 2c worth :whistling:

  3. Hey Guys

Ever since I have installed my stereo (amps etc) my +ve battery connection has been oxidizing quite badly. My current one will have to be replaced soon and im just wondering is this is a regular problem and whether or not it can be stopped.

I have tried an anti-corrosion product after cleaning the connection properly with boiling water etc but the problem still persists!

    Any takers???

    Cheers

    Vaseline is your friend :yahoo:

  4. TOYOTA is to write to the owners of almost 150,000 of one of the nation's most popular cars alerting them to a defect that can cause the headlights to suddenly black out.

Toyota has discovered that the headlight dimming switch on all 144589 Camry models that were built between June 2002 and May 2006 may become faulty, causing headlamps to flicker or even extinguish.

A Toyota spokesman said that more than 100 customers have reported problems with their headlights, but no one has been injured.

“There’s been 101 cases reported, but there were no accidents,” the spokesman said.

He said that in the worse case scenario, the headlights could go out for “a few seconds”.

He said the company was sending letters out to owners this week before commencing an advertising campaign in newspapers around Australia in the next fortnight.

All vehicles would be assessed and repaired free of charge, the spokesman said.

According to Toyota’s statement issued to Recalls Australia, the contact points on the switch may corrode over time.

“The headlamp switch contact points over time may oxidise (corrode) due to insufficient current flow through the switch,” the statement said.

“This oxidation may cause the headlamps (low or high beam) to flicker without warning and in the worst case may cause the headlamps to extinguish momentarily.”

  5. i get 16.2L/100km recently with my 2 years old 2.4L camry sportivo + xforce muffler with little aggressive drive.

the fuel consumption is getting worse.

by the way 2.4L engine is hopeless!!!

That sounds like there is a bigger problem. I am getting 8.6l/100k on the hwy and 10-11 around town. I have 50,000k on it

  6. It’s all because of supply issues in the US. Hmmm maybe they should reinvest their ever increasing profits in to maintenance of the refineries.

The thing is when other things are in short supply because of breakdowns the price does not go up. I know there is supply and demand but if baked beans go up because SPC does not do maintenance then no one would buy them. I guess that is the only thing to do cut the use of fuel or target a company.

  7. The only time I saw police presence on a trip down to Margaret River on the weekend was when I saw a speed camera in the overtaking zone. Ok it’s a given one is not to speed at any time but here we have a wombat driver varying there speed in front of you from 75 to 85 kph in the 110 zone. The overtaking lane is 3kms ahead so you wait to do it safely. Once the overtaking lane has opened up the wombat speeds up to 110kmph. So you go to the lane to overtake Mr Wombat. So you have the stress of Mr Wombat, looking to overtake and the speed cameras. You are spending more time looking at the speedometer than on the road. Then your overtaking lane is running out. Ah Stress idiot and uncourteous drivers who just cant drive! You let Mr Wombat in so you don’t exceed the speed limit. You have a bull bar on your tail from some rude four wheel drive who is frustrated you did not put your foot down. Mr Wombat is back to doing 75kph as he is afraid of a slight bend. Welcome to crap WA driving which is not helped by speed cameras and idiots.
