  1. i agree there is a big loss there, for example an xr6t makes 230 at the fly and will dyno around the 190 atws mark, i thought a trd aurion being FWD and having more power would possibly be up to 200 ish . though dont ever take a dyno as gosble, so many different factors in weather, humidity, what brand the dyno is or what mods its on, also theres such a thing as day shoft engines. sometimes u could be lucky and get a freak engine sometimes u can get a below par engine even though they are made at same place , same day etc also general rule of thumb is that a FWD will have less drive train loss then a RWD and AWD, but this is not set in stone its just a general rule , either way its well and truly in v8 terrirtoy so it should be smiles all round :)
  2. Limited slip diff, though it might make torque steer worse, but ull get better traction but in a FWD its alot more costly cos diff and box is all one , .. 245's ..wider tead mean more traction, ... spacers (proper engineered ones!!! no dodgy ones to dangerous) once again further apart wheels = more traction, , but theres always a pay off .. also look into an anti lift kit, it helps prevent the front lifting on take off
  3. are you talking about breaking dif/boxs or torque steer or getting traction to the ground ? ive spent alot of money on another FWD a few years back , ( i had a 2000 magna making around 145/150atws NA) yeah FWD is a hazard but you can tune and mod around it, torque steer can be tuned out with right suspension settings 90% of the time, breaking stuff is a problem but a good tuner can adjust torque and power setting to suit a trans ( i have in my xt6T atm ) also as with my xr6t you maybe be able to tune the trans as to how hard it shifts, this greatly increases a trans life , can even have anything below say 5 grand a soft shift and anything over and it will shift hard so it suits both occasions . but yeah i know this can only happen if u crack the ecu. and getting traction.. well anyone who build s a FWD as a drag car have rocks in their head, it just dont work, however an LSD can fix the problem (costly though) what im trying to say is FWD is not as bad alot alot of ppl make out, i personally know of someone who races improved production class with a 240kw atws NA magna with compete very very well against much sportier RWD cars . any ECU can be tuned, obviously the TRD has been tuned for the s/c so it is possible, down the track you guys might get lucky and the ecu could be re flashed without a piggy back ecu , or worst case scenario ... youll need a full aftermarket ecu and lose some of ur nice luxurys :( If anyone really wants to start serious modding i reccomend ringing some worthy dyno shops and just see if they wanna have a go
  4. can that really be true ? the trd engine has same internals as normal engine ? i wonder then how hard the trd engine is pushed , surely itd couldnt handle much more boost? though its good news for ppl with the atmo engine, wait till kappa and raptor start playing with them and ull prob have an even better forced induction option, to be honest if u took ur stock aurion to one of them with a s/c charger and tols them to go for it i wouldnt be suprised if they would wrok it out, problem is they cant make new kits for new cars until they get a donor car
  5. Hahahah... I will second that. Buy a bike. No cat converter issues. cheap exhaust systems. cheap air box solutions. LOTS of aftermarket go fast parts. most sports bikes come with adjustable suspension. tyres are better and cheaper......................................................... well, look nice too? but in any accident, chances of dying on the scene is ( )? fill in the blank that annoys me when ppl say that, most fatalities on bikes are due to intoxication and rider wearing innapropriate clothing for riding, aslong as you ride under the presumption that traffic cannot see you, and drive defensivly in traffic as opposed to agressivly you will generally be fine , though i will admit no one gets a sports bike to not rev to the limiter on a country road, back on topic, if u buy super low springs how much further are the bump stops ?
  6. lol im no money bags, i wish :( , my trouble is i try keep it simple and then i get onto my research and find forums like these and they r a bad influence so cut that talk out lol plus, ive learnt if u want something fast, buy a sports bike screw cars lol
  7. yeah ive seen pics of the pipe , definetely something ud want to change regardless of if u wanted power or not, yeah dont be fooled just cos i have a quick car now dont be thinking its what im after my priorities are with comfort , build quality , style, fuel consumtion, it seems the aurion has that sussed hands down, like i said if power was what i was after id keep what i have now . thanks for quick reply, rims , lowering ( i really mean slamage lol) get rid of spoiler and ill be happy to be honest, lol im trying to grow up fast cars r just money pits thanks again
  8. OK well im looking at buy an 06 sx6 i currently have a xr6 turbo with over 300 kws atws only 11psi boost complete with custom trans will do an 11 second 1/4 mile and yadda yadda yadda, anyways ...... i HATE IT lol, its quick but it doesnt feel quick, its roomy but uncomfortable, and lacks class . i really like the sportivos but me being me i cant have a car and leave it stock .. sooo whats the lowest anyone has lowered one ? im thinking it would be about 3 inches to have the gaurds just level with the tires? has anyone figured out how to turn the stability control off for spirited driving ? not that its a biggy though i can find anywhere if its an open wheel diff or limited slip diff ? i ges im really not to worried about performance, would be silly to play with the induction side of things, specially putting a POD on it , only cheapens the car, and im gessing that due to emission standard there are something like 4 catylitic convertors in the exhaust ... are these all sensored ? thus making it hard to get a complete aftermarket exhaust ?
