I cant remember exactly but it was under $50 for the parts. Just offer to pay for the part and ask them if they can fit it for you free of charge or for a small charge. I done it and I can sleep peacefully.

Ask for the metal pipe to be installed. I paid for the part and Toyota replaced it instead some crappy hose...

As for rear speakers if it only just catches a speaker you might be able to mount speakers a bit higher by using spacers. I ended up lifting my up and trimming a part of parcel shel underneath. Worked like dream.

Thanks all for the replies. I cant comment on the installation as I haven't seen it done. I think that it might be improper bedding. This time I paid attention and bedded brakes properly.

Everything pointed to rotors. I'll never buy slotted rotors again. I had standard DBAs for over 4 years and never had a problems.

Dropped my Aurion for the service and spoke to the mechanic and he said it will be ok for the day. Filter has a different valve to the one it should be used. Luckily he had one I needed so I picked it up and changed when back home. Thanks for the replies.

Drove to shop and back and it seemed ok. However she drives on the freeway. Any other thoughts?

It might be a case. DBA said that these pads compound isn't consistent or sth like that. He recommended Bendix heavy duty. I'm taking a car for a service to mechanic tomorrow and will post back after all fixed.

I bought an oil filter for my wife's v6 Camry Altise 2004. I was given wrong one at Toyota. Part number 90915-YZZE2. It is slightly smaller that ones I always used. Since I threw away old filter this is the only one I have for the wife to use tomorrow, are there any implications? Question is it safe to drive for a day. I will change back to proper one in the evening.

Spoke to DBA and yeah rotors need to be machined. They blamed installation. Possibly mechanic didn't check for disc run out and also pads aren't suitable for these rotors.

Does anyone know a good place in Melbourne to machine and install rotors.

Anybody got any experience with Brakes Plus or ABS?

I think he put Bendix CT ones. I had QFM HPX pads but he said that these were too hard and were eating rotors. I got a feeling that someone was feeding me b***s***. I think I might contact Greg again and reorder another set.

Or is there other pads were considering? Something with good braking performance but not too hard on the rotors.

EDIT: I also noticed that disks are slightly glazed?

I also have Bendix pads on the car as well. This might be a problem. I'll take car to other place and get the second opinion.

Just wanted to get some advice. Last year (16k km) I had DBAs slotted4000 and new pads installed on my car. Recently I noticed a very slight wobbling in the car while braking.

Options :

Get the discs machined at $40 per corner plus new pads

or

Change the rotors and pads but it is like around $1k exercise

The mechanic said that these rotors are sh*t and he willnever put these on. It made me suspicious. I know that here are quite fewmembers have these on and they are happy.

What are your thoughts? Also anyone knows where I can get DBA2707 and DBA2709 at the good price?

It was about 2-3 min and sounded like something ead lose. Never happened before.

I had a weird car start yesterday. It was really noisy. Just like piston slapping but much much noisier. When the car warmed up a little the noise disappeared. The car was just idle. I started today and all was normal. Any ideas?

Why not have a look at Touring then. Dual climate control, towbar, soiler, parking sensors, nice instrument cluster, fog lights and trip computer. It should be cheaper than sportivo and only little bit more expensive than artx. Anyway have a look around.

Anything up to 6000k should be ok. I'm using 5000k.

Or you could retrofit your headlights with projectors. I still have a set professionaly retrofitted headlights for sale for Camry 04.
