  1. Nope.

its actually good resale compared to alot of cars.

You have to remember that once you drive a new car at appro $29,000 our of the toyota dealer you lose close to $4000 straight away if you wer to sell it privately.

If you got a 05 less then 10,000ks it would go for around 24 - 25k

And rememberin the world of car sales mods dont add value ot the car. eg wheels sytem etc.

They actually somtimes make it harder to sell.

And i cant beleive ppl who take photos of their cars on car sales with the P plates on.

    a big no no!!

  2. I just spoke to my good mates at top ten tyres as i have 87H tyres on my car frm them. They said they insurance company has to prove that there was more KG's then the rating on the tyre to deem it unroadworthy

Apartly the load rating is a guide as to what actually comes with the car. After looking through all the rta material i am yet to find anything taht says you have to ahear to it. Only that you have to adhear to the ratings on the tyres. I knwo for a fact that the 87H on my car is fine as i dont have more then the Listed KG's on my car.

  3. This doesnt make sense?

If the sportivo has a tyre with load rating 87V

if you check the load rating chart for tyres. that means you can have 540KGs per tyre.

then why do th eother corollas (Which are lighter then the sportivo) have a load rating of 88v? meaning 560KG's per tyre?

    load-index-table_large.png

With the v just a speed rating i dotn undertstand hwo the sportivo would have a lower rating then the standard rollas??

    any ideas guys?

  4. With my sportivo cat back they just cut the 1zz pipe after the cat then welded a flange.;

The sportivo system was 3 inches to short to reach the cat so i have 2 1/4 inche piping added to the end of the sportivo system so it fit nicly onto the flange of my 1zz cat.

Ive been told by numerous ppl that its far beter to kep the stock cat unles syou hav eaftermarket headers and even then its not worth it on a non turbo ( Not my opinion just those of ppl liek carline etc.)

    Anway.

get CAI and add sportivo cat back to your 1ZZ and you'll have a car that will keep up with a stock sportivo 0-100. :)

Here is a Tableof Dennis Stock time ( Quite fast i mite add, Im sure some stock stivos run slower) VS my lastest 15.778 time. (1ZZ with intake and sportivo catback) VS silvas time.

    timeeb3.png

As you can see at 660ft im right there with them, ahead of dennis but not silva. Denis has a higher MPH but you coudl make the assumpion that when i hit 100/km/h in to top of 2nd that i was ahead of him slightly.

Not bad for $170 sportivo cat back and $100 ebay CAI

  5. i know the guys at autotech...

firstly they clients here at work :D

and spiro(owner) is my best friend of 20 years or so cousin

    ohh..and im interested lol..

and i have also been to mrt....they do heaps of wrx work.

spiro is the guy that im talking to about it.

Call him and ask for discount man

otherwise we will hea dto MRT instead@@!! :P

  6. OK guys

We have 2 options so far

    AutoTech in Grandville

    20 cars = $50

That includes food and drink. they say we will get around 3 power runs if all FWD cars.

I have also herd back from MRT performance near Rhodes on homebush bay drive.

They matchded the $50 a pop for 15 - 20 cars. (Unconfirmed about food and drinks) but i do knwo they are really good at what they do.

Both are free most weekends in october november.

It will be held on a saturday or sunday depending on the availability of ppl.

If ppl are genuinly interested i will also invite the mazda boys and astra boys.

Will start officaly organising it all next week.

    Cheers

  7. Hey Guys

I know the other states have had a few dyno day in the past and they seem to have heaps of fun.

Was looking at organising something in October possibly at Silverwater.

Please post your interest in this thred. We could have some awards for Highest powered 1zz and 2zz and a most surprising and so forth.

The day would also include a BBQ of sorts. TO get numbers would could invite the Ozmazda and opelaus guys with the mazda 3's and astras.

Anyway let me know what you all think and ill get some pricing and availability down

  8. If you didnt do the dyno runs the same day then u cannot compare at all.

The dyno is a tuning tool. You can go ther etoday and pull 127kws and tomorrow with same dyno same temprature pull less.

Just how they strap the car down effects the output figure.

The best way to of measured the difference is to have run it down the quarter and then did the mods and run it again.

See what trap speed and time you get. They will give you a mroe accurate reading of how much your mods have changed.

Hope this helps. Ask Dylan (Blue_Stivo) he did what u did and between mods he lost power. But we knwo he didnt in reality.

    Bill

  9. Update i just look up the figures

The camry 3.0 actualy has a better power to weight ratio then the 99 vt commo

    Commo

    power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.056880900771451

    Camry

    power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.060441939172425

This is from the figures in redbook. Even says 0-100 is faster in the camry??

    1999 TOYOTA CAMRY

    Engine Code 1MZ-FE

    Power 141kW @ 5200rpm

    Torque 279Nm @ 4400rpm-4400rpm

    Acceleration 0-100Km/h 8.9 secs

    Kerb Weight 1419kg

    1999 HOLDEN COMMODORE

    ECOTEC

    Power 147kW @ 5200rpm

    Torque 304Nm @ 3600rpm-3600rpm

    Acceleration 0-100Km/h 9.3 secs

    Kerb Weight 1596kg

  10. I dont knwo what egine it was,

But i drove my dads 99 camry touring and gteched it for quarter mile. I was doing consistant 15.9 16.0

Now ive seen stock v6 commos doing the exact same times at wsid. (Anything vt and older) so for the time i'd say the camry touring was right up there for speed with the vt commo.

Not sure if any of the avalons have the same engine though. Also the camry was 5 speed manual and most commos are auto.

I think if u got the 1MZ-FE with a manaul vs a Vt commo auto the camry will just win.

    Cheers

  11. ythanks dude yeah just need to match dylans 2.2 60ft and im in the 15.6's. in saying that im 3rd or 4th overall including the stivos in 60ft times so not too shabby.

THe next 3 months you will get at leadt 6 runs as it is heating up a tad and all the pros dont go down as much or they have 2 runs and ***** home.

I got the just before 5 and was 3 car runnign and never stopped in the pits just kept going back into the lines all night.

i think Bil XOOM, wants to head down in 2 or 3 weeks so all u shoudl have a run then tom. Prep those tyres up :P

  12. Heres my 6 slips from tonight minus 1 that i ****** up with and ran a 25 sec hahah

Now we cant say may 15.7 was a fluke

Was having trouble on launch. I cannot honestly say that any of these were a perfect launch as i bogged or spun hard on all of them. But was a fun night and im happy considering i basically matched my time from before. a 15.6 is not out of the question!! The temps were also twice as high as last time o did the 15.77

    Note the different trap speeds

    quickest run at the top
