  1. Its time for me to take my Gen 6 camry a lil lower... decided on Kings SL's and having read through some of the older posts around here, Suspension City seems ike a good place to go. Hollered at them and was quoted $400 springs+installation and $90 for wheel alignment and balancing which I have been recommended to do after a few days with the new springs. Is that a decent price? $490 seems like a rip off when I am reading how some of you peeps got everything done for $350? All advise and feedback is much appreciated... big thanks...
  2. sorry to be hi-jacking ur thread mattybiz... just a quick question to silvabullit: i'm close to getting my gen 6 camry lowered with kings super lows all around (wanted pedders but after reading through comments here, i've decided to go with kings instead) and been quoted for $490 installed+balancing+wheel alignment... reckon its gona be a safe rie for me running on 18" in terms of clearance and is it a decent price to pay with self installation out of the question? main question is the lifespan of the stock shocks... i noe lowering shortens the life of the stock shocks... just wondering with careful driving wat kinda timeframe i am looking at before i need to dish out more moolah for new set of shocks? big thanks... and sorry once again for the thread hi-jack.
  3. I noe they are h7s... as for valeo or not, am not sure... d2s!? i'm officially confused. so anywayz... mines an aug 06 camry (current shape).... the knowledgeable forum members might be able to tell me once and for all what type of stock projector head lights i got... please :(
  4. er... if all Gen 6 has projectors then I do as well?? :) but why is the conversion to the HID kit aint plug and play sorta thing? the extraction of the base to connect the HID bulbs and refitting the base plus trying to secure the ballast (which is probably the main problem) seems like a delicate task. you guys have been helpful... i guess the decision lies with me on whether i can be bothered to go through with the HID conversion or not.
  5. i have no probs with HID kits and been looking at it for awhile, as probably with a few thousand other drivers wishing the same thing... however, reading through installation instructions and all... i am not really confident if i will know what to do and not screw anything up. hence i thought... alright, since i am such a numb nut, i might as well juz pay a bit more to get the whole headlight set changed to projectors and worry about the bulb type only... but i realise i am faced with the RHD and LHD issue :( this is almost falling into the too hard basket! anyone in melbourne i can just go to for such after market installation? :)
  6. yeah gen 6... guess the easiest way is to get some white bulbs? any suggestions?
  7. i fixed my gutter rash with this guy in WA tho, fixed all 4 and repainted all with gloss black $250 :) How bad were yours? And any of u guys know how are the cost calculated? that would be about right... just did the same to mine (similar sized rash to the pics attached) and spent half the afternoon ringing around... have quote ranging from 40 bucks to 140 per rim. very minor gutter rash as well. decided to remove most of the jagged edges myself with various grade sandpaper... not perfect but i can live with it the notion of "its bound to happen again" is stopping me from spending that money...
  8. yikes... okie then, there goes that option...:(
  9. ahhhhh.... learnt something everyday! say if i just install it as it is... other than blinding other drivers, will i get into trouble?
  10. brighter on the wrong side?? skool me please? should headlights be a side brighter than the other??
  11. hi guys, any idea if these will fit and work properly in our camrys? the HID kit installation and trying to find a place to secure the ballast is putting me off a little... how will these do in terms of lighting in comparison to HID kits? i'm assuming it would be brighter yes? i only knoe it looks pretty dope.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...0&viewitem=
  12. oh yah... didnt occur to me thai camry = aussie aurion... my bad, got excited too quickly.
  13. anyone got picz of what these things are meant to look like.. and man, the freight iz killer!
  14. Tinz did you want my brand new duck tail rear boot spoiler as said I originally bought for Aurion but found out it only fits the camry 07 models give me 60 bux + postage AUR30N so itz youuuuu! can you email me your banking details instead? i'm having problems accessing the private message box and its a hit and miss situation... duno why, thus was not able to get back to you coz all i could remember was i was meant to get a spoiler from someone who owns an aurion (hows that for a useful clue here). tavischan@gmail.com - give me total including registered mail, thanks.
  15. why are the goodies never applicable to camrys :( someone start a group buy for some camry grilles and eyelids as well pleeeeease?
  16. yeah i will get it looked at under warranty... thank god. ever since i bought my car like 2 moths ago... its been non stop visits to the workshop! Just got the car back after getting my driver door realigned and passenger door produced a noise everytime you close it. Tailights lenses also got changed coz moisture was forming inside and the passenger headrest was a little shakey. thank god for warranty... just the troubles is annoying. i guess you wont that sorta problems with brand new cars...
  17. thanks mate... silly question I know...
  18. Sounds like a really stupid question but does the auto gear shift cage (where the D, P, N, etc are) has illumination? I bought my camry without lights to that area when I turn on the headlights at night and while it never occur to me that it might have blown, I just always thought maybe theres just no illumination at all which sems kinda silly since almost all cars have it these days? Someone shed some light please??
  19. hi mate... i am kinda in your shoes at the moment as well... all the exterior options for aurion and rollas but its hella impossible to find anything for camrys. then again, guess ya gota start somewhere... i've done tint and rims so far... then getting the car lowered and then pay a visit to Performance Exhaust in hope to get nice to replace the "black pipe" sticking out the rear. desperate for this kit by Naristo so if anyone ever noes anyone whose bringing them into melb... please holler! i just cannot justify paying more for freight than the kit itself to get it here: http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_image...28_133_full.jpg
  20. Cheers mate, yeah lets just hope they take it as it is and accept that my car is under new car warranty still and just get it fixed without dramas :)
  21. Depends on how much whiter. You can change to krypton filled bulbs which give a slightly whiter light, but still look yellow in a way. Or you can get the +30% halogen bulbs which give a slightly brighter light which is a little whiter than standard halogen, but the overall colour is still a bit yellow. Alternatively you can put in a super white bulb which are the ones that have a blue coating on the glass surface of the bulb. These turn out fairly white with minimal yellow, but be aware that these bulbs will have a lower light output and tend to be more useless than anything. For that true white look while retaining brightness, your best solution is HID's. thanks... and how hard is it to install on of these HID things? brands i should go for or avoid and ow much i should be paying for them?
  22. alrighty... dont wanna sound like a retard but I'll just the question anyway to get a straight answer. if i just need my headlights looking whiter than the ***** yellow one most stock production car do i have to get it fully converted with the HID kit + ballast etc or will changing the bulbs do? Anyone can summarise the difference for me pretty please? driving a current shape camry btw... thx!
  23. dud rwc?! damn... i was hoping going to a proper toyota dealer i would not run into such risks... gona be losing sleep over this... how would i ever find out if they sold me a dodgy car? last thing i need is try to sell my car few years down the track to only find out its not road worthy at all. its only over 2 years old... but you can never be too sure? what a bummer,ya can always pay i think its around $75-$80 and get ya own roadworthy done, just need to find an established workshop(that does RWC) and tell him ya drama and he might find out whats been done or not done to pass roadworthy,i would only do this if they(your dealer) is not willing to fix these under wty.you do have options so dont lose to much sleep, as it was stated before you must have a RWC to sell a registerd vehicle so the seller & workshop that performed RWC are liable.anyway good luck with it all. cheers guys... to be honest the amount of info i get here in half a night is more than wat id find out in days. kinda annoyed coz its my first car and i'm like all excited about it... wont lose much sleep... speaking to them again, will let you all noe how it goes *fingers crossed* and once again... thx to all contributors.
