  1. I use Kitten Interior cleaner, and have for the last 15 years. Another one called "Spot Remover" is supposed to be good too. In a Pink bottle at autObarn.
  2. You've probably already had the radio out or found the problem, so this is generally for anyone else. There should be two power sources for the radio in any car, factory or aftermarket. One to turn the unit on with the key, and the other to keep the memory for the clock and stations. Both will be fused, but from two different sources (one ignition power, one battery power). So, checking the fuse marked "radio" isn't necessarily the fuse that holds the memory.
  3. There's two parts to a temperature guage, the guage itself and the sender. Either one could be faulty. With the ignition turned on, remove the wire from the sender and touch it on a metal part of the engine. If the guage starts to climb up to the red, then the guage should be OK, and most likely it will be a faulty sender. For the cost of a new sender, your mechanic who changed the engine should have replaced it!!! Espacially since the reason for changing the last engine was an overheating issue.
  4. Hi Yonnee, You are correct. The Chassis is a little wider about 2 or 3 cm (darn it) and there is a cross memberthat goes across the chassis under the tray, the towbar fitting plate is shaped like a hook goes around the cross member. Adding to my wows the older towbar's fitting plate is welded on to the actual bar the new one is bolted and the old one is straight with a small hook that goes into a hole on the chassis with two bolts holding it on the new one has three bolt. It is quite a bit different. um don't want to buy a towbar do you? They retail for $280.00 The one I have is almost brand new and in excellent condition sell for 180.00. It is not a Hayman Reece but a genuine toyota part. Sorry, new ute's not mine. I bought the old one, the '03 model. And the new one's got a towbar already. You shouldn't have too hard a time off loading it, it suits mid '05 to current.
  5. Autoconcepts were/are the company that supplied autObarn with a range of mesh sheets and checkerplate.
  6. The part numbers from Hayman Reece don't changeover from one to the next. If your new vehicle is the current shape, 04/2005 onwards, then it is a different towbar. I'm fairly sure the chassis is wider on the newer model too. We've just updated one of our company utes, and the other we're not just yet 'cause the trade boxes don't swap over as the chassis is wider.
  7. For those still interested; 195R14C is the factory standard. But you could go 205R14C without any dramas. And for the uninitiated... 195 195mm tread width R Radial tyre 14 Rim diameter C Commercial or Light Truck tyre (can carry heavier loads)
  8. I've just taken delivery of my first Toyota, and my first ute, all in one. So I've been doing some research for various reasons, so I included in my search the "workmate". The difference so far are; The workmate's Ive seen and compared seem to be the povo pack bottom of the range, with vinyl bench seat and non-tacho dash. A different model designation, RZN147 for the workmate, and RZN149 for the next model up, should tell you what you have. The RZN149 has the Tacho dash and cloth split front seat. There may be more, but these are the only differences I've found so far. Hope this helps. Yonnee.
