  3. As stated above in october 2005 the corolla's became OBD II compliant (also according to redbook).. hence the reduction to 93kw to meet emissions standards. From my experience i bought a OBDII ecu code reader thingy and it only works on my friends 2006 ascent where as i have a 2004 ascent to which it doesnt work on also doesnt work on sportivo. Presumably it could be a change in ECU plus other engine changes that occured in october 2005?
  4. it could be a coolant temperature sensor?
  5. just a couple of answers from a begginer lol... 1. i'm assuming a echo's stock headunit does not come with rca pre-outs as i have worked on a normal echo and my corolla sportivo), so what you can do is 1) Use a line level converter (around $30 + installation) or 2) use a Hi-level input straight into the amp. 2 if u really want clarity get him the components now and as defiant states that the fronts aren't all that powerful he's going to have all his music coming from the 6x9's in the back. if the speakers in the dash are 6.5' (kinda doubt it lol) u could try an "MB QUART DSD-216 6.5" Component System" they go on ebay for about 130 and are absolutely ear piercing when amped. also saves you from cutting up that parcel shelf.. . 3. amps.... mmm heaps of stuff out there not to sure where to point you to. although i have a few budgeted friends running response amps from jaycar and they seem to be satisfied.
  6. Hey kinda off topic but was interested in your clutch adjustment i was wondering if the friction point is quite high? reason being is that i have a ascent corolla as well and my sportivo's friction point is much higher than the ascents and was wondering whether i should pursue a clutch adjustment.
  7. i was wondering this when i was getting quotes for insurance but just put it down as upgrade... couldn't hurt i don't think.
  8. also something else to add to this question... what is the difference between the upgrade sportivo and normal?
  9. Its already in pickles auctions sydney!

  12. i was looking inside my air box and noticed a white thing that sits on the inlet into the Air flow meter if i remove this is this "derestricting" the air box? or it will have no effect at all? btw on a sportivo
  13. happened to a friend of mine with a black conquest unfortunately deep enough until a white layer showed through. this happened at kensington maccas ... where did yours happen? tried the touch up paint but made it look abit better but still noticeable try a polish if u say it isn't that deep
  14. yea.... i want mine to do that..its hell annoying when i forget to wind up the windows b4 turning it off maybe sportivos don't get it in the facelifts?
  15. hey guys 2 of my friends both own corolla conquests and find that the power windows go up after the ignition has been turned off. i own a 05 sportivo and noticed that my power windows don't come up after the ignition has been turned off. i went to toyota to ask them about this and they said it was normal for the windows not to go up after the ignition has been switched off. can anyone confirm this for me? thanks
