Hi guys,
fairly new here...Western suburbs boy...Werribee..and don't knock me cus there's a little bit of everyone in Werribee...lol
2001 V6 CAMRY TOURING
5 speed Manual, Sunroof, Towing package, Just a great car..was looking for an SS, my Wife didn't want me to get a V8 so i test drove it, read up on the oversea's mods and fell in love ;) I'll get my 220kw's one way or another..
Blue, got it at 100,000kms, done about 18'kms in 2 years, everyday car, drive to work at the moment but when S/C'd i'll train it,
Mods done:
Exedy Stage 1 Race Clutch,
Fidanza 9lbs Alluminium Flywheel,
Front & Back DBA Gold 4000 slotted/cross-drilled Rotors,
Champion Iridium spark plugs, (req'd for boosted motor)
TopGun Max300 Leads,
TRD Supercharger (Have it but sourcing other parts before fitting it/ Can't wait...aiming for around 220-240kw's) Will start with stock 4psi boost then work my way upto 7psi after fuel mods. A few months away at this stage.
TRD Boost gauge and Leather knob on there way from the USA, gauge is for a Tundra and comes in a holder for the left pillar, so will have to modify into my right pillar...yey!!
Mods To be done:
Headers/Extractors - Maybe OBX Headers on Ebay or Custom built depends on budget..
3" Catback exhaust - Maybe OBX or TRD Muffler with custom catback, maybe dual exhaust...budget,
Weapon R CAI or Custom Bonnet scoop Air Intake w/TRD Filter,
Upgrade Brake Calipers & Paint them Blue,
Upgrade Fuel lines, Fuel pump and maybe Fuel rail,
Upgrade to Braided Brakelines,
Gauges - Oil,Temp, etc. yet to be decided,
Bodykit - TRD if i can get my hands on one, most likly Duraflex or similair, not concerned with this at the moment, rather keep a low profile..
Custom bonnet - Carbon fiber or Fiberglass,
That about sums it up for me...
So you're the one who bought the charger from ebay. Is it in good nick? What are you going to do about the broken actuator??
PS. Dont get a duraflex body kit! Go TRD or GTP, I might be able to source you a TRD kit from a friend (minus the rear boot lip)

I'll be there on the 3rd, I reckon just have it as the usual place. Its a bit of a drive for me aswell but who doesn't like driving?
-
Definetly worth it. Even if you can't feel the difference in handling, its a great piece of engine bling.
-
Looks great in the first 2 pics clean and stylish and then all rest are broken links :(
Yea Photobucket decided to delete my account for No reason. They were just progression shots of my mods.
Exhaust will be finished in an hour! Just a straight through axle-back muffler with dual rolled tips on a slight angle. Nothing too major just wanted to balance out the crazy induction noise with a nice note from the back. Plus getting rid of the massive Christmas turkey standard muffler!
-
+1 to that ^
Wouldn't mind showing off my new mods. Though would be good to wait till next weeekend, when I will have the exhaust in.
-
Exhaust next week! :)

From memory, the facelift ie 00-01 had a slightly different bracket for the headlights, I was originallly going to get them for my 98 camry but decided against it because i heard they would stick out and not sit flush with the indicator. I believe the black ones from the USA will fit 00-01 fine but not 97-99.

Too much money! Give me some of it so I can catch up to you, hopefully I'll atleast keep up somewhat through the corners.
I am watching this thread with alot of anticipation to see how this turns out.

The standard harmonic balancer removes engine vibrations, it's 'heavy' because its full of rubber. In my opinion 5kW is not worth the cons.
Got the new lightened pulley today. Was expecting noises and vibrations as you said...yet there is nothing. Absolutely no extra rattles or noise. Has changed the way it powers down a very small amount, mainly in the higher revs. But it looks cool so it was worth the money.
Should've dynoed it before and after to see the changes, if any.

I want to come! But I don't know if I can...
Weighing up my options.
-
Or you could retrofit your headlights with projectors. I still have a set professionaly retrofitted headlights for sale for Camry 04.
Did what you just said like a week after I put the HID's in. Made a world of difference, no more stupid people highbeaming me.
9 Months later, still work like a dream
-
I don't get it? Whats wrong? Is the pulley a bad idea???
-
i'll be organizing something soonish, watch this space :P
Soonish should mean nowish!
-
Rims will finally be put on tomorrow. Like a million years later!
I have also ordered a NonStopTuning lightened crank pulley.
70% lighter than OEM
around 5kws
-
Damn you mick. But fair is fair, its yours :(
-
Do I sniff a bolt on kit for my car Andrew? Your old setup would be sufficient for my needs. (non ABS shouldn't be an issue?)
-
Saw Sikwitit (Sean) on Hotham Parade, Artarmon turning left onto Pacifc highway, I was driving the grey Golf R that kinda flew by you. Thats the second time I've seen you there, do you work locally?
-
Anyone know if it is possible to put '07 sportivo seats in my '98 Camry without too much trouble/modifying?
I know the MCV36R ones do.
-
I didn't think of that haha. They aren't out by much, so I will give that a shot tomorrow night after work. Grinding is an absolute last resort, my brother has a drill grinder thingy that I was going to get him to use to elongate the wholes a little.
Will let you know how I go.
-
Due to expanding family, i'm thinking of selling my metallic green GTP Gen 4 Camry. If you have any interest in this car please post here
I'm keen, however I do suspect that I'm a little late to the party.
A year and a half ago, I suspect so.
PM me if you're interested in a GTP Camry.
-
The bar is just too big, the wholes don't line up.
Its out by about 5mm on either side, getting the grinder out tomorrow.
-
Hmmmm...Mine just came, and I had a quick look at it on the car.
It didn't seem to fit
