  1. as a recent vehicle purchaser i refused to buy a repairable write off (only way id buy it is if i owned the car before it was crashed and i knew how bad the damage was) Why bother buying one when you can buy a car that hasnt been crashed almost as easily!
  2. Thanks Gav trying to decide whether to leave it stock, sell it (due to financial commitments) or just bite the buillet and wack a CAI in it!
  3. Hey Guys Heres a pic of my stock Stivo, its great to drive and the only mod is an Alpine bluetooth headunit to run my iphone via bluetooth New to toyotas, but loving driving it every day so far!!
  4. how much power would this add to the corolla, and would it still be driveable or just lots of torque steer?
  5. I have been told by a ford service manager that everytime you replace the brake pads in a focus you need to replace the front rotors too as they only get about 25-30 thou before they are shot....... U dont see that advertisement up do you. And yes, i too laughed out loud when i saw the deisel focus that gets better fuel economy than the petrol corolla advertised!!! Hahaha thats a good one.. pushing it into a creek.. :)
  6. i found tradingpost.com.au and carsales.com.au to be the most helpful. But you could lurk on here till you see one for sale!
  7. i stil say get the sportivo! they'd have to be way more fun than a standard corolla to drive!
  8. i got a 2003 model, its using about 8.5 per 100 at the moment, and ive heard that WRX's are more like 12-14 litres per 100 i assume it has a timing belt but i think they are done at 60 and 120 thousand kays OK cool, what model did you get? A few other things? Do all 2003+ corollas have a timing CHAIN? Because a few I'm looking at are hovering about 100,000km where a timing belt change would normally be due. And any feedback on what models offer features such as ABS, Dual Airbags, power windows etc? Hmm what car to buy, so confusing, because Im also looking at GC8 WRX's! One path leads down sensibility and better runing costs/fuel, where as the other one would be very FUN to drive everyday but not as good fuel econ etc. Think WRX's have about 9-10L/100km.
  9. I only recently bought a sportivo mate and they are awesome to drive, very spartan on fuel and have plenty of power for driveability. I havent driven the newer corollas so i dont know how they compare to them sorry.
  10. Picked it up today, its goes great, needs a wheel balance and alighnment i think but manit drives great :)
  11. thanks guys, cant wait to pick it up
  12. Hey Guys and Gals I put a deposit on a 2003 Corolla Sportivo today, will post a pic or two when i pick it up next weekend. Im pretty excited as i dont know much about these cars but what i read looks good!! Its all stock, 80 thou on the clock silver. Im hoping to stick a set of black 17 or 18" rims on it and maybe a cold air intake and exhaust (pending wifes approval!!) Cheers Luke
