  1. Really good to hear that the Rollas with their drive by wire ETC systems will work! I've ordered this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2013-Latest-Version-V1-5-Super-mini-elm-327-Bluetooth-OBDii-OBD2-Wireless-Mini-elm327-Works/640630805.html Will let you guys know how it works paired with an App such as Torque. Loads of good reviews from real buyers and I've seen a couple of Youtube clips showing it in action. Looks promising...
  2. Hey Everyone! Got a bog standard 1ZZ-FE and seriously thinking of the rear sway bar upgrade from Whiteline, part number BTR77 (22mm). As we all know, the Rolla is set up for chronic understeer, any chance that this could aid in higher cornering speeds, more neutral handling at the limit, whilst not being twitchy and dangerous? Thoughts from everyone who's got the mod would be really appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Thanks! I found the Bridgestone Adrenaline Potenzas RE002s in the size I need, and they were really cheap! I wasn't expecting that at all!
  4. Hi Everyone, Any idea if the 06 ZZE122 Rollas have the Sumitomo or Aisin front brake pads? Apparently they're different types and I need to know which parts to buy. Thanks!
  5. Hi Everyone, I want to buy myself the new Dunlop Sp Sport FastResponse tyre for my Corolla (06 1ZZ-FE), but they only make it in 195/65/R15. Trouble is that the tyres I have right now are 195/60/R15... Will the bigger sidewalls still allow the tyres to fit and will I be able to recalibrate the speedo due to the increased circumference? Has anyone put on these tyres on their Rolla? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for all the help everyone, I'll probably go for the DBA Street Series T2 Rotors as well at the QFM HPX pads...
  7. Thanks for all the info Dave! Much appreciated! I was thinking of getting the EBC Greenstuff Pads or the QFM HPX for the pads and maybe the RDA Slotted discs for the front or DBA T2s. Has anyone had any experience with these? How long do they last, the pads and the disks? Both the RDA disks ($150 front set) and the QFM HPX ($90 for fronts) are a helluva lot cheaper than the stock combo ($250 rotors and $90 pads), so I'm trying to see where the catch is... Will they be noisy, produce lots of dust, wear out after like 5000kms, or just fall apart after two hard stops? Any advice?
  8. Hi Everyone, So the odometer has just gone over 135k and I need to give the beloved 'Rolla a good service. Below I've got a few things that I wanted to ask the forum, your help would be much appreciated! 1. I plan on changing the brake pads all round as well as the front discs. Is there any chance that I could get the Sportivo's pads and discs? I'm looking to upgrade the brake performance on the car, does anyone have any suggestions regarding brands and what products have worked well for them? 2. What is the size of the front and rear brake pads? Is there a specific type that I need to get? Same goes for the front discs, what is their size/type? 3. I want to change the transmission fluid for the AT, do I need any tools? Is this an easy procedure? The fluid looks quite dark, I 4. I also want to change the front driver's side floor-mat. Any good places where I can find one? Any good aftermarket ones? 5. The "tightening of chassis nuts and bolts". What do I need to do? has anyone ever done this and has anything been loose? 6. The cabin air filter. Does the Corolla actually come with one as after the last service at a Toyota service centre, the filter is missing... I would like to thank you all for your help! It would really mean a lot to me! :) Mike
  9. Hey Guys, I've noticed that my brake pedal when its fully released can be moved left and right with the side of my foot. Anyone else experiencing this, any way to stop it??? Also any upgrades ou there to improve the brakes on a stock Ascent??? Mike
  10. Just wanted to know what other people think! 2006 Rolla Ascent Auto Whats good? Whats bad? Driving opinions? Steering feel? Handling? Engine? Refinement? Comfort? Interior? THANKS!!!
  11. Hi Guys, I've developed a strange rubbing noise from the front left suspension. Whenever I go down from a curb on my driveway, or at slow speed encounter a speed hump, I hear a strange noise from the left front. It's not metalic in sound more like something rubbing, even maybe a crunch??? I want to have a look at it myself, does anyone have any technical diagrams, so I can take a look myself. And today was my first day with my new car as a learner, I got my lovely 2006 Rolla a week ago from a family member. Also does anyone find that the driver's seat doesnt go low enough, I keep catching my leg on the wheel when I step of the gas and onto the brake. Mike
  12. Hi, Does anyone know if the Levin/Sportivo steering wheel will fit on the Ascent as I want to get rid of the old one on mine. Do you guys have any easy suggestions on how to improve the performance and make the handling better. Also, can someone tell me how to perform an ECU reset, and what to do after it. I want to ensure that I do it right not to stuff anything up! Will it help with the performance? Cheers, Mike

  14. Thanks for your help! Would you know where you can get a TRD air filer? A dealer would probably have them. To imporve the handling I guess the sway bar would be good. Are there any other simple things that I could do. ie Air Filter? Oh and the car is a hatch.
