  1. FYI, Hyundai have the lowest return for repair rate of any car builder so I wouldn't go bagging their quality.

Trust me I had a Hyundai few years back they suck big time.

    Gear box blew up.

JPS137 I'll make your mind up for you.

Found it in Autotrader you negotiate $1000 off you have a virtually brand new sportivo cheaper than a base model ascent.

Toyota Corolla Sportivo 2004 Front wheel drive silver hatchback 1.8L 6 spd manual, 4000kms, air steering, dual airbag, sbs, full option, black leather interior, 1 yr rego, mp3 CD player AZY-14Z excellent condition $20999 negotiable HECKENBERG 0402-96 0214 or 02-96078686.

  2. In all fairness I thought Toyota rectified all the clutch and gear box issues in the Sportivo by the release of the 2005 facelift model.

As for the pre 2005 models Toyota did recall those models for adjustments/corrections.

You guys make it sound like the Sportivo is Hyundai built quality which is a gross exageration of the truth.

The sportivo is still a reliable car.

  3. I was thinking of get those to, do you need to get a flex pipe for it too? or is it bolt on? I was told u need to get a flex pipe for it. You should put it on the dyno and see what the gains are....

It was suppose to be direct fit but....

On my model the original engine pipe flange needed to be cut and re welded to the catalytic converter, some models have a flange join at the catalytic converter and no welding required [direct fit]

By the way where did u get the TRD sticker on the side the doors? Ive been looking for those..

You should also paint ur fog lights covers, so it will blend in with the rest of the ride, which is very easy to do.

Got the stickers from Ignition-X ages ago.

Nah I actually like the contrast of the black fog light covers but I do want to paint the headlights JDM style.

Thanks mate cya at the Jan meet

  4. All the above adv are true. Also, it has enough back pressure for lower end, and enough straight through in top end. lift kicks in harder.

the only disadvantage i would say its ******en ugly.

i have it on my sportivo, looks ****, sticks out and cant be installed straight. it is some what standard. but if u can look past this, then its a great muffler.

Just get a rear skirt so all you can see is the exhaust tip.

i think the s12 looks pretty good :) , and x force had updated the twin loops, its now with shorter tips, i think its good, its mugen design for a cheap price. does the s12 acts the same(quiet below 4000rpm and etc)?

I believe you can fit a silencer on a S12.

  5. Hi Guys,

Any obvious ways of telling the difference between a new tyre and a retread tyre?

Just that I found a shop that sells brand new Kumho KU31 in 225/40/18 for $155 a tyre.

Its a good $30 cheaper than anywhere else in Sydney.

    Thanks

  6. Its true.

And the best is when accelerating pass 4000rpm to max rpm. It generates that lovely buzzing sound, not bassy note. Kinda like a bee buzzing noise. This is the sort of sound u get from buying expensive japanese muffler.

    Jaspher,

Its true for X-Force twin loop.

We cannot be 100% sure in regards to the X3 Ebay one.

All of the twin loops on this forum are made by X force a local Australian manufacturer.

Good luck and let us know how you go Jaspher

    Cheers,

  7. Mic,

Depends on how much you are importing.

If you get 1 CAI you can say it for personal use only not for resale. Not GST probably no Duty.

But went I tried to get 10 AEM CAI I spoke to Aust Customs and they told me 10% GST on the entire value of the goods and shipping. Then another 10% on duty.

Thats why group buys for overseas suppliers are not worth it IMO.

Cheaper to go individually through ebay.

INDECENT(group buy king) always uses local suppliers.

    Good luck mate.

    Cheers

  8. Just got my car back from Best Mufflers in Carlton. Had the Genie (Wildcat) headers installed today.

Have to say so far I'm veryhappy with the results and service from Best Mufflers.

Danz and Hsien you guys are spot on the low and mid range feels very different now much easier to drive.

Cant wait to dyno the car. Anyone want to come in Sydney?

  9. the rule is - if the pod is in the engine bay it needs to be enclosed. The CAIs people are getting are positioning the pod outside of the engine bay and behind the bumper which I am lead to believe is perfectly legal.

    I agree

My understanding is exposed air filters in the engine bay is a defect.

But the K&N apollo is ok as the filter is enclosed in a cover but still sits in the engine bay.

Hence why I have the heatshield on my SRI.
