  1. Welcome!

what renault car do you used to drive? i have had 2 renault sport clio. one 172 and one 182 F1.

Compare toyota with the Renault cars, the cost to maintain a toyota car is more friendly than a renault (around $400 for a MINOR service).

Also the parts avaliability of toyota is much better than renault (no spares in oz, need to order from France)

    anyway. nice choice.

    Enjoy the forum

    Terry.

    This is nice!

Can you share the steps to take it off?

    Good job!

  3. I cant image how come a 17 yo boy loves classic cars.

Both 2 cars are older than you...which is nice, you can learn something from them.

    Nice taste.

I guess I just love classic cars.... your more attached to them than you are with modern cars in my opinion as you spend alot more time with the classic car getting them work and that takes alot of effort and so your bond with the car... hehe

Love classic cars too much... my dream classic car is:

    1953 Hudson Hornet

But someday I want to get alot of $$$ and get 3 old school mini and replicate Italian Job style... hehe

They are R50 Mini cooper S in the Italian job. You can do something like Mr. Bean. Put this on

btw: i love classic mini as well. It is epic!

  4. With CAI (pod filter) you will notice the engine sound is louder.

With exhaust you will notice the sound is louder when you press acc.

For me i will do CAI first because by adding CAI, you will notice the difference from performance (increase HP) to fuel efficience (better).

Currently i have a catback exhaust and K&N panel filter (quiter than CAI but little bit louder than stock....little bit). They works pretty good.

    Hope that helps.

  5. How did you get your car so quickly, I'm still waiting for my ZR6 to be build, was told to be arrived first week of Nov.

Looks like the new head unit is not going to be compatable with pre-facelift mode. I guess I will have to wait a bit longer for upgrading the head unit from ebay.

Thanks for post, hope you find an answer.

Well.. I was thinking to get Mazda CX-7 2.3 Turbo (face Lift model) but I had a funny feeling about the engine output and fuel consumptions so I end up bought Aurion, I got my ZR6 three weeks ago and I made a bright choice I am happy now.

The factory Head unit and speaker on my ZR6 are so crap, I changed my 2 rear speakers next day when I got my car, I just got my head unit changed last night it works great but I need to gat my reverse Cam and steering wheel control working soon. this site is so good about everyone exchange experiences most of expert answering your questions...

    see...i told you.

    LOL

  6. Toyota Aurion Reversing Camera

    This might help.

    Drew

    Hey Peter, this is Terry

Nice to see you here and hope everyone would be helpful for your question because i have no idea lol

You even solve my problem with my DVD headunit..hehe

You will be fine. Good luck

    Terry.

Good on you Terry I hope you enjoy it.. I just got my Kenwood DDx-8034BT install in my car 2 hours ago, it works great but I lost my reverse Cam and Steering control as well (I can't find the pin layout), I'm still fig things out in fact the place sold the Kenwood head unit to me they are hopeless, I hope someone can help me out...

Does the above link site doesn't help?

Is it 24 pin plug on the Aurion or 16 pin plug like my corolla?

The last method i can think of is to eliminate the pins you know and hopefully only 1 last.

    Good luck. See you friday.

  7. Okay, now i will show everyone the best way to do that.

What i and my mate did is to buy another female toyota harness.

We connect the cables of the female harness to the pioneer cables and simply plug it in.

    Its done.

There is a green cable says "break" which is means the video only show up when you hit the break.

We disable it by screw it with chassis.

I will post up the Toyota factory harness set up tomorrow and my mate told me that the set up would be the same for all post-2000 model because he used to drive 2000 corolla and now 2009 aurion.

  8. Does anyone have/know that what number is for what for the toyota stock audio harness?

i found out that the plug of my new pioneer dvd player (AVH-P4950DVD) is smaller than the plug of my existing pioneer mp3 player (DEH-P6950IB) AND they seen have different meaning on each of their colour cables (which is mean, the same colour cable in the no. 4 hole of old one is no. 9 hole in the new one).

So me and my house mate decide to take the existing pioneer harness off and reconnect the new pioneer harness to the Toyota harness (wasn't been cut).

Does anyone have any idea about the Toyota harness? like which hole is for what?

I have found service manual of my pioneer dvd player on the internet but will cost US$19....Anyone know anysite which is free?

    Thanks a lot!

  9. install my Pioneer DVD player today.

Took my existing headunit off but stuck with all cables behind.......

I thought it would be easy to replace with same brand product but still too hard for myself.

You should find that even though the plug into the head unit is different, the colours of the wires coming out of it are the same. They use a pretty good standard these days. You just need to connect the new Pioneer harness to the stock harness wire for wire like the previous one. If that fails, a multimeter and a 1.5 volt battery is all you need to work everything out.

I would have been able to give you a hand tomorrow, but Sam is hungry and now she's all excited when I said that she can eat some R.Colt's tomorrow :P

haha i know that. Go ahead! let the honda guys know who is the boss!
