  1. After giving the Rolla the wash it deserved from the dust of yesterday, I have added a bit of chrome to it ;)

This time, I scored a chrome self sticking strip like the one used on bumpers and applied these strips to the front grille to make it stand-out a bit more

The chrome adhesive strip fits perfectly in the existing grooves and I think it looks nice.

Also fitted mud-flaps which I got from Toyota for $73.00 bucks a set.

  2. ok, almost got the travel notes sorted :), but before I go any further. People from the shire, please note that will not be coming down King Georges Road as there are WAY to may traffic lights

There are 2 suggestions: Meet us at the royal nasho entrance and join the groups there

Hi Pete, if you mean the nasho entrance at Loftus, am OK to wait for you guys there. There is a huge car park just before the entrance to the national park near the Loftus Soccer Ground. If you could let us know the time you'll get there, I'll make sure am there 15 minutes before that.

I'll send you this message by PM as well.

  3. Thanks guys. For the indicators, I have ordered the chrome bulbs to make them invisible inside the lens, I don't think am gonna put LEDs in there or the reverse spot, as these are bright enough, actually mich brighter than the factory indicators and reverse lights due to the design of the lens.

  4. Hi Guys,

One of the above-mentioned mods has been added today and I can reveal it here ;)

It's the ZRE sedan complete tail light replacement and swap with LED style tail lights

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure (click on the photos to view them in full size):

Now, here is where your opinion is needed again, yes, it's those chrome tail light surrounds again. hahahaha :)

Here are pics showing these tail light with and without the chrome garnishes, so you tell me which looks better

The wife and kids all said, put the chrome garnishes back on, the rolla looks much better with them :)

Just some feedback about these LED Tail Lights, they're super bright indeed and exceeded my expectations for sure. They look awesome in daylight as well as night-time and fitting them was a breeze, straight plug 'n play and the harnesses were 100% compatible.

  5. I am having one fitted in the Rolla as I noticed great degree of body roll and body flex, especially with the mother in law sitting at the back LOL :)

Am actually thinking of fitting a rolling cage too

Don't care about anyone else noticing it in my engine bay, as I know it works and worked on all my previous cars.

  6. The performance of a strut bar has nothing to do with having the suspension lowered or factory set-up, you usually add a strut bar to reduce body flex and body roll during cornering, so yes, you will notice a difference when you fit one, even with stock suspension. It all depends on how hard you take corners though ;)

I wouldn't buy one of those el' cheapo ones for 50 bucks either, especially the ones that flex around the mounting bases as these will do and achieve nothing and will just sit in your engine bay for show.

  7. Actually, that horse-shoe shaped bracket you speak of only joins 2 bolts together from the looks of it.

I thought it may have been flatter like the Aurion in which you can mount the bar right on top of it:

Yes sorry, it only joins 2 bolts together, I got it confused with the X-Trail one which joins all 3 bolts.

But even in your case, it's a good idea to remove it, cause the base won't sit flat on the tower if the strut bar you're fitting requires all 3 bolts.
