  1. Hey guys,

was wondering how accurate the speedo is on the zre.

Currently running on stock Tyres and wheels.

Reason why I am asking is because I went 79km/hr in a 70 zone. Past police patrol with those speed guns. Just worried that I might have been caught speeding.

Lol sorry about the crappy grammar, as I am posting this on the iPhone.

    Cheers

  2. Thanks guys, you guys are awesome!

I will probably call around later this week or visit some exhaust shop to see what they can do, and what price I am looking at.

Dutchie, those tips you showed me looks great mate. I guess what I'm after is a tip which would go nicely with the mods/ body kit that I am planning on doing soon.

    Cheers

  3. DJKOR is spot on. Screw or bolt on are gumby!

Go to a decent exhaust workshop (or shop around for one you like) and get them to cut the old one off or back and weld on the new one. Is the ZRE sedan the same as the hatch? ie weird downward pointing tip and angled resonator? Makes things a bit harder than the usual straight pipes..

Hey Guys, thanks for the prompt reply :)

Dutchie, the ZRE sedan is the same as the hatch with the exhaust tip pointing downwards.

Also just quickly, I was wondering how much would it cost for these sort of mods, with the cutting and welding?

  4. Hey Guys,

Just after some advice or tips on getting an stainless steel exhaust tip for my ZRE. Cause the stock ZRE tip is just black and ugly.

I am not after a whole new exhaust set up, just the tip at the end.

I have seen some online which are basically just screwed or tightened on, and was wondering how good they were.

Any recommendation or advice from from people that have done them would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  5. If Toyota Australia decides to bring the blade here, I would trade in my ZRE instantly!

206kw in a Corolla should be flapping fun, Having said that, I hope the power delivery would be something more exciting, and hopefully the steering feed back would be better.

  6. Hey Guys,

Just noticed that there is one deep scratch going down the lower driver side.

The scratch is around 7 to 8cm, and it feels quite deep, like the paint has come off.

I haven't driven my car for the last 2 days, but my dad has been using it while I was away. So I have no flapping idea what happened.

So I was wondering whats the best way to get it fix, and how much am I looking at spending?

I will post a picture of it when I am free later in the arvo.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  7. Hey Jazz, looks like you will have one hot Corolla there once you are done with it. Just wondering what those rims are and what size they are? They look awesome.

    Peace

    Hi Mate,

If you were refering to the Grey wheels with the red lip, they are from Levinhard.

They come in either 16" or 17"

I am definitely going with the 17", don't really want anything bigger or smaller than that.

In regards to mods, I will have to slow it down at the moment, as the company I work for will be closing down in a month time, which would leave me jobless :(

Hopefully I land another job before it closes down....

  8. You need a HB4 kit. The HID kit type you need is the same as your Halogen bulb, this is for fitment in your headlight. The HID (ZR) headlight will require D4R globes, which fit the HID headlight sockets...

    Dutchie101,

Thanks for the clarification mate. Planning on getting the HB4 kit for my ZRE sedan to test them out. If its too much glare hopefully they will fit my Dad's 07 Camry Grande, since the Camry comes with projectors already.

Also another thing to rant about, how can a $40000 Camry not have HID standard!?!

    Recession

Lol, we bought the car brand new at the start of 2007, that was before the GFC......

Ah well, at least if the HID doesn't work out for me, it will go into Dad's Camry, so it won't go to waste.

  9. Speaking of colours, is it possible to get orange heat? so it matches our ZRE dash colour?

HAh! I was thinking the same thing!! :D

Man, i didnt think red heat would be that popular!

Lol, well the thing is that the ZRE uses orange Dash light, so it will look much better with the red heat, the blue heat will look out of place.

But orange would be sweet :) It will match my custom made orange stitched seat covers!

  10. Both Red heat are sold. Sorry. I didnt think the Red Heat would have be popular, so i only got two. Ill get more sent over when i do my next order. Anyone else wanting Red Heat, please add your name here.

    Ahh damn!

I guess I might put my name down for now, as I am not too sure how blue will look in the ZRE.

  12. Sorry to revive a dead thread.

I know in the Corolla user manual, for Halogen bulbs it says HB4.

However in the manual it says Discharge bulb is D4R, this is for the Sedan ZRE by the way. I assume discharge bulb means HID?

Since halogen bulbs are HB4's, would getting HB4 HID kit work? or do I need to get D4R?

  13. Maybe a stupid question but where did you order them from, and if it is on ebay what did you type in to search for them? CHEERS

    Hey Mate.

Most of the guys here got it from eBay, I myself included.

So far they are going great.

I got mine scuff plates for my ZRE from the seller below.

The link below should fit your ZZE

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Toyota-Corolla-02-0...#ht_2919wt_1165

In the link below, it show how it looks on my ZRE.

  14. Can't remember mate to be honest as I ordered heaps more stuff for them at the same time, this job was only a small part of it, so not sure how much they charged me for it (if at all). Yes, the LED in my spoiler has a red lens. I prefer that to the clear one, goes well mith the LED tail lights I have.

It takes them about 4 days to have it painted and they can install it on the same day. It's pretty easy to install, but I don't like drilling new cars LOL :)

Lol, yeah I know what you mean by drilling holes in new cars.

Unfortunately the red lens won't look so good on my graphite ZRE, guess I will have to get it from SSV.

  15. I had the chrome garnish on the headlights before that and from the day I got the ZRE for my wife, I didn't like the "scared" look of the ZRE sedan and the way the headlights were extending to the sides, so the chrome surround garnish helped reduce that a bit because I couldn't find any eyelids back then, but with the eyelids I believe that scared type of look of the ZRE front is gone and it looks much more aggressive. ;)

The spoiler is from Talon. Supplied, painted and fitted by them as well.

Oh awesome, out of interest how much did they charge you for the entire thing plus fitting?

Cause Talon is like an 10min drive from work, also was wondering what was their turn around time from ordering to getting it installed?

Jalal, just realised that your spoiler is slightly different to the OEM Toyota one. The Toyota one has clear LED cover for the brake light.

I will give them a call tomorrow to see if they offer that.
