Project Shadow

Hey Guys.

Just a quick run down on my ZRE. Bought it brand new last October, I am quite happy with it.

But being a base model Ascent, it does look quite bland and boring. So I have decided to make it my project car :)

I am pretty sure what I want, and what the end results are gonna be. Just that its gonna take some time and some money!.

Below is a photo of the car without any mods.

Got my inspiration for this project off the US ZRE's.

I am hoping my end results will be something similar to the cars below.

My mods so far are fairly basic and easy, these mods consist of the following:

- Darkest legal tint

- Slimline weather shields for front+rear

- A set of OEM fog lights

- Stainless steel scuff plates.

My mods for the next 2 or 3 months:

- OEM Style Rear spoiler

- Set of new 17" Wheels (Either Kappa's or Levinhard Shadows)

- Philips Crystal Vision bulbs

How the car look at the moment:

Any tips, advice or recommendations is much appreciated.

A photoshop i did awhile back, but it will look very NICE B)

Start off with getting your hands on a Corolla XRS Bodykit (XRS is YOUR model corolla in the states)

That pic you got for inspiration is amazing.. Looks like an Evo at a glance. Choose a dark rims plz plz plz... All the mods u listed is a MUST! And if possible, smoked lights..

Lol, I am going for either black or Dark Grey Rims, I have already got one in mind.

I rang Ozzy tyres for quote, it was $1400 with 4 new tyres.

Hey Evo,

Thats some nice photoshoppinng there mate.

Yeah, I have already enquire about the XRS body kit, Talon don't have any ETA for the front pod and rear skirts.

However, I have also contacted SSV, and they are doing it for a tad over $1200.

I have also been trying to find those XRS grills, but don't seem to find them any where.

Just a quick update.

planning on ordering my rear spoiler in the next few days.

However I am not too sure where the best place to get them from.

I have contact both SSV and Talon Body styling, and so far have been quoted around $390 for the spoiler to be prime, painted and delivered.

I remember when I was purchasing my car, the dealer quoted me $500 for the spoiler which also includes fitting.

So what do you guys think? is there any other places that I should check out?

I'm not sure about others but given the chance, I'd definitely go with Genuine parts.. sometimes the difference in price between genuine and aftermarket body parts are not that much. :)

But anyways, very nice start on the Corolla, keep it up!

Hi Mate,

If you were refering to the Grey wheels with the red lip, they are from Levinhard.

They come in either 16" or 17"

I am definitely going with the 17", don't really want anything bigger or smaller than that.

In regards to mods, I will have to slow it down at the moment, as the company I work for will be closing down in a month time, which would leave me jobless :(

Hopefully I land another job before it closes down....
