  1. Back in the day Nitto were big in the Jap drift scene. They were mostly running them as semi slicks on the front... I ran a second hand pair on the front for a while on the cressy, very soft compound and killer grip. But that was then, this is now, and im unsure of their current range. Im talking about ten odd years ago.... I thought they were Jap manufactured?

  2. Great to see the lighting bug at work again... Im assuming that an old school LED freaker like yourself would have played with EL wire by now?

Some interesting accent work from Japan...

Yes, the amazingly styled lights do help with the design, but you can see where im coming from....

  3. Heya peoples.

I regret to inform you that i now have my beast up for sale for a few days if the trade in price im asking isnt met. I need a bigger vehicle for work, and have one lined up... Just waiting on a phone call this arvo to see if they come to the party. I know i will never get back what i put in, but i knew that from the start.

So, the ZR is up for grabs. If the dealer doesnt want to pay the extra im asking for, ill be parting out.

Asking 23k firm. New owner pays changeover. Take this as a temp 'For Sale' untill i know more about whats going on with my new purchase..

  4. Heya Ben,

Yeah your totally correct, numbers dont speak for the feel of the car. I just took mum and dad into town for dinner, and well, they both exclaimed"sheeeeeiiitt" when i tromped it. So coming from a neutral perspective, the increase in quite noticeable - Thats an awesome gauge that should be an international standard, the "M&D factor"

For some reason torque isnt on the shootout graph, i can recall that when i do the exhaust and re dyno... Im sure it has increased.

Also, this run was just to make sure no pinging or knock was noticed with the new ECM, im not sure how hard they pushed it, but it would be near full.

Note how rich Lexus run it till 3+k, i assume this is for the squidgee luxury feel, as now it has far more pedal response down low.

  5. TOMS ECM arrived last week, installed by KPM today.

Had a little issue with the ECM needing to be corrected with a security reset as the TOMS ECM obviously didnt match the rest of my system. After some wonderful help from Master Technician Cameron at Lexus of Adelaide, and a quick scoot back to KPM, the guys had it sorted. Excellent.

Pre dyno showed 158kW at the wheels, TOMS installed dyno yielded 163.4kW.

Most power gains were thru the whole range up to 5,400rpm, considerable from 3,700 thru.

As max power isnt really an issue here, the numbers dont seem to be that different.... why bother i hear you say??

Well the driving is outstandingly better. Faster, sharper, pulls harder, seems to down-change quicker and i love it. It still maintains the smoothness and cruisyness, but boogies with the foot down.

I would expect to see far more improvement figure wise with the PPE headers, TOMS mid and center pipes installed... stay tuned!

  6. Heya,

Today while at my very reputable mechanics (ive been going there the best parts of 5+ years) i was shown and asked if i was, or anyone i know was interested in a a hard built 3S-GTE long block for a Caldina.. Fully built for a customer to run 30psi, bulletproof internals over **k spent on it. Was built for another shop for customer who decided to do a runner, leaving the guys i know with a killer donk and a large bill to cover.

Anyone interested please pm me and ill pass on their details. Located in Adelaide, Genuine interest only please.

  7. Sale price is generally in AU when written in an Australian publication...Its quite simple if you read my post properly.

All prices are estimates until further notice, except the Jap prices which look like they are published by Toyota.
