3 racing conversion kit

I used most of the existing bits from the TT01D and substituted some with the bits in the conversion kit for a smaller wheelbase

TT01d as is when I scored it

Started off with a awd Tamiya TT01D with skyline shell... too big to use as is.. but there exists a conversion kit which I bought quick smart to get the cube going.

Based on a legendary cube from Thailand, I contacted the owner via FB and gained his permission to replicate his car in RC 1:10. top bloke!

Before the wrap job... was the DRIFT CUBE RC project...

Got it completed and was lucky enough to show this bloke @ the end of yr JDMST meet @ Eastern Creek

Noticed the climate controls arent wrapped in that pic...

From far away it looks good, but not close up

After much wasted wrap.. even when done well, when the car got hot inside, it tended to wrinkle up. Will respray it eventually when Im bothered.

The horn was the last mod... done last month.

I scored some satin black vinyl wrap and put it to good use on my dash..

Trial and error a plenty

Removed all the bits off the stereso surrounds

Came off nicey

As for the Gauges... all are functional... but I can see why they were the cheapest on ebay. The LEDs fitted in them arent reliable. All 3 of them have at least 1 of the LEDs malfunctioning.. in daytime its hard to see but at night, the LEDs that do work make it possible to see the temp at night.

Over a yr later... time for an update!?

Gettin annoyed royally in traffic and not satisfied with the Nissan sport horns my Cube came with... so the Yankee horns get to blow out a 3rd car!

There were 5 of us last time..(i had thermostat issues so I couldnt make it) wouldnt mind going just to watch since its free to do so.. but will cost around <$200 if its your first time.

This was our first meet down in the Blue Mountains area.

Usually our car park meets have been at Liverpool Harrys cafe de wheels or the Villawood Bunnings carpark (which i previously suggested because it was always good for the monthly Toyota owners club meets back when I owned my 03 Corolla).

But just last Feb we had a track day at Marulan and a Meguires demo (car polish etc & 3M vinyl wrap demos)..

It was a little hard to take pics with Flex's headlights still on.. I guess the camera needed a really long exposure.

It was a wet day, people left early and arrived late.. and only 1 Rukus managed to turn up for the meet.

Better than none I say!
