  7. won the bid..GT4N on the way..!!

  8. Ew, quoting myself. Feels kinda funny Here you go ... to prove my point above ... Now the needle will rise up a bit further than this when I start driving it but this was only 5 seconds after putting the key in. Oh, one other thing, do you use the AC all year 'round ? AC is a fuel economy killer !! Steve. hahah... that just tops it all... imagine that reading on the fuel gauge.. but the trip computer saying ' 200km' i don't normally use the AC as i have a sunroof... normally just top open with the air flow coming through the vents...either hot or cold... but Thanks anyways for your info.. WILL have to get this checked out next service. :(
  9. Wow, either you're driving it hard or something's wrong with your engine but I normally hit the 500km mark bang on the half-way mark. Unfortunately we all know half isn't actually 'half' but yeah you should be getting much better economy than that. Few things though ... is it a manual, are you using 95/98 octane fuel and are you really trying to drive it like a granny ?? It's a manual, using BP Ultimate 98 oct. Don't drive hard at all. haven't revved over 4000k in a long time....
  10. I'm like you iVaz, drive a 2002 levin, fill her up until she spits. Think she holds around 35-40 liters. (always fill up at 1/4 tank with BP Ultimate since new) But i've always only gotten an average of 450-500km's off a tank... i thought this was standard... and now... after 108,000k's i think fuel consumption has gotten worst... check the speedo today, travelled 200k's and its just above half tank...WTF!!!! i normally see 300k's at half tank.. i don't know what's wrong. I have got 17's on but that wouldn't affect the consumption that much i thought. Might try the fuel injection clean or anything else Toyota recommend at the 110,000 service. pretty guttered that i'm hearing all these HIGH figures of k's when mine is only nearly averaging half of what is available... please alien8

    whirly birds ?

Hey, I know you can definately get them from plumbing shops.. for around $100 inc gst.. in what they call 'Mill Finish' which is the standard finish... kinda like zinc. You can also get these in colourbond colours to match your roof tiles, and these would go for around $130 inc. Might also find them in hardware stores like Bunnings. As for rebates, i don't know about other states, but in Vic, there isn't any... I don't think these would fall under any class for rebates as they don't 'SAVE' anything... they only take the moisture and hot air out from under the roof.
  12. Don't quote me on this, but I think it's to differentiate between the diferent trades out there... i might be wrong. I work in the plumbing trade.. (selling the fittings... not sticking my hands down dunnies) and i know for a fact that they wear the "Navy Blue" - i guess it's to do with the 'water' side of the job... Builders and Carpenters/Chippies usually wear the Tuape/Olive colours.... and Painters normally wear White... as for the orange... i think this belongs to the safety workers like SES as these are high vis.... but green....never seen it worn.. :)
  13. I just got a set replaced... got mine for $150.. 1 year warranty on parts.. off a mate. I don't mind paying a little more as i can get them on very little notice.. (1 phone call) and then even the same night if he's free. I think he gets them in from Hong Kong. But i can't see a brand on them other than Xenon Conversion Kit. Mine are 8000k although you might fined that the output would vary between brands as the ones i had prior were 10,000k and they were the same colour as the ones i have now... They are very easy to install (direct plug in and turn on), I personally wouldn't trust someone not experienced to install them as they might touch the bulb or do something not required...therefore bulbs might not last as long. But that's just my thoughts... Good luck with your choice!! Once you go HID, you will NEVER go back!! :)
  14. That's great.. thanks for the prompt feedback.. already had some lined up.. just didn't know which to choose... placing the order NOW!!!
  15. Sorry, forgot to say... was wishing to do a direct swap on globes..so no changing the ballasts... is this possible???
  16. Hey all, have been a keen reader, but never posted... Just this morning, one of my HID bulbs died... my question is if i could replace my current bulbs (H7 10,000k) with a set of 8,000k ones??? would anyone here know?? they have served me well. After i replaced the headlights i found that the 10,000k ones are too bright and the light that is given off is not consistent... so wishing to downgrade.. hopefully with a better cutoff..hehe any feedback would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!
